Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh visits people in flood-affected areas in Dak Lak

On the afternoon of November 8, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh and leaders of Dak Lak province visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to people affected by storm No. 13 in Xuan Canh commune (Dak Lak province).

Visiting Ms. Huynh Thi Nhau (born in 1950, residing in Hoa An village, Xuan Canh commune), a poor, single-parent household whose house was completely collapsed in storm No. 13, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh encouraged, shared and gave her gifts; at the same time, asked the local government to support her to soon rebuild a new house to stabilize her life.

Visiting the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Do (born in 1939, residing in Hoa An village, Xuan Canh commune), a poor household whose house lost its roof during the storm, the Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the family to overcome the immediate difficulties and make efforts to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. The local government will also send forces to help the family stabilize their lives soon.

Visiting some primary and secondary schools in Xuan Canh commune that were heavily affected by the storm, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh encouraged teachers and students to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and stabilize the school to welcome students back to school soon. Local forces continue to provide human resources to help schools overcome the consequences of storm No. 13.

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Xuan Canh commune, after storm No. 13, the entire commune had 25 houses completely collapsed; estimated damage was about 7.5 billion VND. The locality had 447 houses with roofs blown off, estimated damage was 67 billion VND. Over 70% of aquaculture cages in the entire commune were completely damaged. Inter-village and inter-hamlet concrete roads were damaged, estimated damage was 74 billion VND. Some headquarters, agencies, and schools in the area had roofs blown off, damaged, estimated damage was 50 billion VND.

Currently, local authorities are mobilizing maximum forces to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilizing their lives.
