General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly's wife attends the Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Film Week and Vietnam - Laos Photo Exhibition

(CPV) - Within the framework of the State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic by General Secretary To Lam and his wife and attending the 50th Anniversary of Laos' National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025), on the afternoon of December 2, 2025, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam coordinated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Laos to organize the Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Film Week in Laos and a Photo Exhibition on the relations between the two countries. The wife of General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly and the wife of General Secretary and President of Laos Naly Sisoulith were the guests of honor attending these events.

The two ladies took photos with delegates at the Opening Ceremony of Vietnam Film Week in Laos and the Vietnam-Laos Relations Photo Exhibition.

At the Opening Ceremony of the Film Week, Mrs. Ngo Phuong Ly, Mrs. Naly Sisoulith, and more than 1,000 delegates, Lao audiences, and the Vietnamese community in Laos watched the documentary “President Kaysone Phomvihane with Vietnam” produced by the Central Documentary and Scientific Film Studio, commemorating the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane – an outstanding leader of the Lao revolution, a great friend and close comrade of the Party, State and People of Vietnam. The film realistically recreates the steadfast revolutionary journey, the ideological stature and the great contributions of President Kaysone to the cause of national liberation, construction and development of Laos; at the same time, clearly shows the close affection, trust and strong connection that the two countries have fostered together throughout history.

The two ladies also visited the photo exhibition "The Great Vietnam - Laos Friendship", which displays 50 photos as valuable documents, marking the historical journey of the two peoples, from the years of standing side by side in the struggle for national liberation, to the process of comprehensive cooperation in building and defending the Fatherland today.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, emphasized that this event is a meaningful cultural and artistic bridge, a vivid demonstration of the strong solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and absolute trust between the two Parties, two States and two peoples. Mr. Vansy Kuamua, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Laos, expressed his appreciation for the cultural gift that Vietnam brought on this important occasion, affirming that this event is a source of inspiration for the young generations of the two countries to actively cultivate and build a pure legacy of solidarity for further development and prosperity in the future.

The Film Week and Photo Exhibition brought to Lao audiences warm emotions and close perspectives on the land and people of Vietnam as well as the close relationship between the Vietnamese and Lao peoples, thereby contributing to strengthening understanding and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The two wives and two Deputy Ministers of Culture of Vietnam and Laos took a photo with director and People's Artist Nguyen Nhu Vu, author of the documentary "President Kaysone Phomvihane with Vietnam".

The event was joyfully welcomed by the Lao people in the jubilant atmosphere of the country's great holiday. The two ladies highly appreciated the significance of the cultural activities, saying that this was not only a simple cultural and artistic event, but also clearly depicted the loyal and steadfast relationship, founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane, becoming a valuable asset of the two nations. This was also an opportunity to review the golden pages of history, pay tribute to the generations who have fostered friendship and remind the young generation of the two countries to inherit and further deepen this unique relationship.

Previously, on the afternoon of December 1, 2025, Mrs. General Secretary Ngo Phuong Ly and Mrs. General Secretary and President of Laos Naly Sisoulith attended a tour of the Lao Museum of Contemporary Art organized by the Lao Ministry of Culture and Tourism in coordination with the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This is a large-scale and symbolic cultural and artistic project to preserve, conserve and honor the artistic, cultural and historical values ​​of the Lao people through a modern, sustainable and national identity-rich exhibition space./.

The Vietnamese Film Week in Laos was premiered from December 2-6, 2025, introducing six outstanding works that won high awards at Vietnamese Film Festivals such as the documentary "President Kaysone Phomvihane with Vietnam", the films "Two Mothers", "Red Rain", "Death Battle in the Sky", "Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" and "I See Yellow Flowers on Green Grass".
