(CPV) - On the evening of December 1, in the capital Vientiane, General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, attended a State reception hosted by General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith and his wife.

In a friendly atmosphere, Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith warmly welcomed General Secretary To Lam and his wife and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to their State visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic; emphasizing that the visit brings the friendship, solidarity and warmth of the Party, State and People of Vietnam to the Party, State and People of Laos. The Lao General Secretary and President emphasized that this visit takes place in an atmosphere where the entire Lao Party, State and People are excitedly celebrating the 50th anniversary of the National Day of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. This is a great source of encouragement and motivation for the Lao Party, State and People, and is also a rare and vivid expression of the two countries.

The Lao General Secretary and President highly appreciated the results of the talks between the two sides, which took place in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and strategic trust. The two sides highly appreciated the bilateral cooperation relationship in the past time and the direction of cooperation in the coming time. On the basis of inheriting and promoting the special traditional relationship, the two sides highly agreed to upgrade the Laos - Vietnam relationship to a new level: great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic connection. This is a testament to the common vision, coordination for strategic interests and planning directions to move forward together for sustainable, strong development and common prosperity of the two peoples of Laos and Vietnam.

The General Secretary shared that every time he visited the beautiful country of Laos, he felt the warm affection of his comrades.

General Secretary To Lam affirmed that in the current context, strengthening and expanding cooperation and sustainably developing the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos has even more strategic significance, meeting the earnest aspirations of the people of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
