Mr. Huynh Xuan Chinh - Chairman of Phu Ninh District People's Committee said that there are many opinions on the name of the new administrative unit after the merger, there is no high consensus. Therefore, the workshop discussed and agreed on the viewpoint, giving a name for the new administrative unit based on the wishes of the people of Tam Vinh and Phu Thinh localities.
From this basis, the District Party Committee, District People's Committee, Fatherland Front, mass organizations and local political systems strengthen propaganda, explanation and mobilization to achieve high unity among the people.
At the workshop, delegates discussed the history of the formation of Tam Vinh commune and Phu Thinh town; lessons learned from the adjustment of administrative boundaries and names of Tam Vinh commune and Phu Thinh town from 1945 to present; the name of Phu Thinh town - meaning and practical value after 15 years of establishment; issues raised by the new town after the merger...
Through discussion, the delegates agreed that after merging the two administrative units, the new town would be called Phu Thinh. The delegates also raised some of the people's thoughts and aspirations related to the merger; requested the district to take drastic and close action in mobilizing, disseminating, and providing specific information to create consensus and collect people's opinions fully and democratically.
