MANY GOOD, EFFECTIVE AND PRACTICAL WAYS
Promoting the role of women in collective economic development is one of the key objectives that Project 01 aims for. With the spirit of "confident, self-respecting, loyal and capable women", many women in Dong Thap have boldly taken on leadership and management roles in cooperatives and cooperative groups, operating effectively, creating stable jobs for many female workers.
The province currently has 37 cooperatives managed by women, many of which are owned by women. These cooperatives have created jobs for more than 1,500 female workers, with an average income of 4-6 million VND/month. Notably, many products of cooperatives managed by women have achieved 3-4 star OCOP certification, are available in supermarkets and clean agricultural product stores, contributing to increasing the value of local products.

To help women further promote their role in developing the collective economy, the Women's Union at all levels of Dong Thap province has implemented many support programs: Start-up training, management skills training, credit support, legal advice, product promotion and market connection; guiding women in applying information technology, setting up websites, fanpages, livestreaming sales, and putting products on e-commerce platforms.
At the same time, the Association prioritizes supporting disadvantaged women to have the conditions to start a business and become economic masters; organizes training on science and technology transfer, guides on building livelihood models, marketing skills and commercializing products.
Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien said: "The Union has concretized the goals and solutions of Project 01, implementing many models to support women in developing a sustainable economy. We focus on coordinating with organizations, businesses and experts to improve the capacity of female managers of cooperatives, women's businesses and community livelihood groups."
In recent times, the Association has coordinated with the Norwegian Alliance in Vietnam to organize training courses on the topic of "Accelerating businesses", supporting commercial activities for female enterprises, cooperatives, and cooperative groups; at the same time, communicating about the application of 4.0 technology in production and business. In addition, the Association also organizes forums and seminars to help female cooperative and cooperative group managers share experiences, overcome difficulties, access policies and investment capital.
WHEN WOMEN TAKE COVER OF THE COLLECTIVE ECONOMY
In fact, there are more and more dynamic and creative Dong Thap women who have become typical examples in the development of the collective economy. They are not only good at production and business but also actively contribute to the process of building new rural areas, creating jobs for many local workers.
One of the typical models is Tan Trung Agricultural Cooperative (Son Qui Ward) with Ms. Nguyen Thai Phuong as Director. Since its establishment, the Cooperative has organized the production of vegetables, tubers, and fruits according to VietGAP standards, linking product consumption with supermarkets and restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City.

Ms. Phuong shared: “We focus on standardizing the production process to ensure the quality of agricultural products, and at the same time sign stable consumption contracts. Thanks to that, members can feel secure in production without worrying about output.”
Not only does it help increase income, cooperatives managed by women also become a place for bonding, sharing, and mutual support in life. Many women who previously had to work far away now have stable jobs near home, have time to take care of their families, and balance their lives.
Another typical example is Thanh Cong Dao Thanh Cooperative (Dao Thanh Ward) with Ms. Ho Thi Lan Anh as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director. Established in 2019 with 30 members, the Cooperative has now grown to more than 100 members and dozens of associated production households; has successfully registered 2 growing area codes including 170 hectares of coconut and 30 hectares of grapefruit, opening up opportunities to export agricultural products to foreign markets.

Ms. Lan Anh said: “The cooperative operates with the goal of supporting each other in production and business, bringing practical benefits to members. We always focus on applying science and technology, expanding cooperation for sustainable development.”
Towards the long-term goal, the Women's Union of Dong Thap province continues to accompany cooperatives managed by women, helping them to transform digitally, build brands and develop OCOP products. The province aims to have at least 30% of cooperatives with women participating in management by 2030, considering this an important task in the strategy of developing a collective economy associated with gender equality.
Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union Nguyen Thi Kieu Tien affirmed: Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, the Union will continue to synchronously implement solutions to develop women-led collective economic models; enhance resource exploitation, training in the application of science and technology, support products on e-commerce platforms, and at the same time create conditions for women to study, exchange and share experiences with cooperatives inside and outside the province.
It can be said that Project 01 has been opening up opportunities for Dong Thap women to affirm their dual role, both as direct workers creating quality products and as talented managers, contributing to promoting the development of collective economy. Cooperative models run by women not only bring economic efficiency, but also spread the spirit of solidarity and creativity, affirming the position of Dong Thap women in the new era.
With the support of the Women's Union and the determination of each member of the Cooperative, Dong Thap women are gradually continuing their journey of legitimate enrichment, contributing to building the homeland of Dong Thap to be affectionate, dynamic, creative, increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
