(sonla.gov.vn) After implementing the policy of organizing two-level local government, the organizational structure of the Son La Provincial Women's Union (VWU) has been streamlined, operating effectively and efficiently. The whole province currently has a Women's Working Committee, 3 affiliated organizations and 75 Women's Unions of communes and wards, with more than 2,200 branches and over 210,000 members. As a representative organization to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of women, the VWU at all levels constantly innovates the content and methods of operation, promotes emulation movements, programs, and practical projects, arousing the spirit of solidarity, creativity and aspirations of Son La women in the integration period.

The emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era" associated with building the image of Son La women "Solidarity, humanity, friendliness, creativity, aspiration to rise up" has been widely deployed, diverse in forms, associated with the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style.

Implementing the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's", the union at all levels has focused on propagating and replicating many effective models. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has installed 177 "Clean house, beautiful garden" signs; launched 2 residential clusters "Clean house - beautiful garden - green alley"; built 9 "Green house for charity fundraising" models, 3 "Model women's route" models. More than 4,300 cadres and members participated in repairing and cleaning inter-village roads; maintained 191 models of women participating in environmental sanitation; supported 61 households to build hygienic toilets, 23 households to use clean water. The goal by the end of 2025 is that the union at all levels strives to support 204 households to meet 8 "5 no's, 3 clean" criteria, helping 204 women's households escape poverty sustainably.

Along with that, the association at all levels has promoted activities to support women in their comprehensive development, building prosperous, progressive and happy families. Many cultural, artistic and contest activities have been organized on major holidays, creating a joyful atmosphere and uniting members. Social security activities have been practically implemented: since the beginning of the year, the association at all levels has given 1,413 gifts to poor women and orphans, with a total value of nearly 600 million VND; effectively maintained the model of "Love Rice Box" with a total cost of nearly 300 million VND, more than 8,000 workers and more than 4 tons of rice to support members in difficulty. In addition, 1,800 members have been mobilized to participate in health insurance, visited and given gifts to war invalids and families of people with meritorious services with a total cost of more than 200 million VND; supporting women affected by natural disasters, giving 10 savings books to poor women, supporting 226 children in the "Godmother" Program.

In the field of economic empowerment for women, the Provincial Women's Union coordinated to organize the Launching Ceremony of "Savings Week, Joining Hands for the Poor", attracting a large number of members to respond, with the total savings amount to date reaching 3.5 billion VND. Currently, the whole province has 1,049 savings and loan groups, helping nearly 35,000 women's households access preferential capital, with a total outstanding loan of more than 2,200 billion VND. Implementing Project 939 "Supporting Women to Start a Business", from 2019 to now, 161 ideas have been supported to materialize; 31 cooperative groups and 18 cooperatives have been established with women's participation in management; 844 members have been supported to start a business and start a business.

The association at all levels also actively participates in building the Party, government and political system. Propaganda and mobilization work for members to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, maintain national unity, and ensure security and order are focused on. The proportion of women participating in Party committees, People's Councils, Fatherland Front and mass organizations is increasing; many female cadres hold important positions, promoting their leadership and management capacity. At the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, 10 female cadres participated in the Executive Committee, of which 3 comrades participated in the Provincial Party Standing Committee. Along with that, the work of social supervision and criticism was carried out effectively, contributing to proposing policies related to women, children and gender equality.

Currently, the Provincial Women's Union is actively directing the organization of the Women's Congress at all levels for the 2025-2030 term. Since October 16, the local Women's Union has deployed the congress, with 100% of commune and ward-level congresses expected to be completed before October 31, moving towards the Provincial Women's Congress being completed before December 31, 2025. Documents and personnel plans are being systematically developed, appropriate to the scale and characteristics of each locality.

Responding to the special emulation movement to welcome the congresses at all levels, the Provincial Women's Union launched an emulation movement associated with learning and following Uncle Ho, handing over 7 "Shelters of Love" , supporting the repair of 3 temporary houses with a total cost of 215 million VND, mobilizing 2,139 workers to contribute to eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses. The campaign "Building a family of 5 no's, 3 clean's" continues to be associated with the implementation of the set of criteria for new rural communes and civilized urban areas; the union at all levels has registered 204 specific works and tasks, creating a strong spread in the community.

With the spirit of solidarity, creativity, humanity and aspiration to rise up, Son La women are affirming their role and position in all areas of social life, actively contributing to building their homeland to become increasingly developed, rich, beautiful and civilized.
