The monitoring delegation of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation led by Deputy Head of the delegation Le Van Thin has just monitored the implementation of legal policies on ensuring water security and safety of reservoirs and dams at Dong Cam Irrigation Company Limited. Participating in the monitoring were leaders of the Economic - Budget Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Industry and Trade, and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

 

Dong Cam Irrigation One Member Co., Ltd. was assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to manage and exploit irrigation works, irrigation works to supply water for agricultural production in the province, including: 5 dam systems; 1 electric pumping station system; 7 reservoirs...

 

In recent times, the company has regularly disseminated legal regulations on environmental protection and water resources, raising people's awareness of protecting and using water resources economically and effectively. At the same time, it has regularly repaired and dredged canals, canal head culverts, siphons, and suction tanks of pumping stations to ensure uninterrupted water supply throughout the system; strengthened management and operation of works; complied with the operating procedures of reservoirs and pumping stations. However, most of the construction systems have been exploited for too long and have degraded.

 

Meanwhile, the company's annual source of financial support for using public irrigation services is limited, so investment in upgrading and repairing construction systems and canals has not been synchronized to fully utilize the capacity to provide irrigation and drainage water for agricultural production.

 

On behalf of the monitoring delegation, National Assembly Deputy Le Van Thin shared the difficulties, acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of the company to synthesize and forward to competent agencies and units for consideration and resolution. At the same time, he requested the company to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities and water users to properly regulate water; strictly manage water resources, prevent loss, use water economically and effectively...

 

Before that, the delegation went on a field trip to the South main canal, Son Thanh Dong commune and My Lam reservoir, Hoa Thinh commune, Tay Hoa district.
