The Vietnam Golden Ball Award organized by Saigon Giai Phong newspaper is about to turn 30, marking a long journey of spreading and inspiring Vietnamese football.
On the morning of November 6, the organizing committee of the Vietnam Golden Ball officially announced the awards, the list of player nominations, the award structure, new features and highlights of the event marking its 30th anniversary.
Notably, in the near future, U22 Vietnam will participate in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. That will be one of the factors that will influence the votes of experts for the noble title.
The list of nominees proposed by the organizing committee for the Men's Golden Ball category has 23 male football players. Among them, players who are still old enough to participate in the 33rd SEA Games in the U22 team have a great opportunity to show their talent.
As always, the Vietnamese men's Golden Ball award receives the most attention.
There are a total of 14 award categories: Golden, silver, bronze balls for men; Golden, silver, bronze balls for women; Golden, silver, bronze balls for futsal (men); Outstanding foreign player, Outstanding young male player, Outstanding young female player; Dedication award.

The “Most Favorite Player” award is a new feature of the 30th edition. The award will be voted on through an online survey on the MoMo application. Voting period is from December 9 to 22, 2025.
In November 2025, the organizing committee will send invitations to participate in voting for the award along with a list of candidates to delegates, including football experts, coaches of national teams, coaches, captains of clubs competing in the V-League, women's football clubs, futsal clubs, and press agencies nationwide.
Within the framework of the Vietnam Golden Ball Award 2025 , Saigon Giai Phong newspaper introduces to colleagues the meaningful and humane program "Warm clothes to school" initiated and organized by the newspaper.
The purpose is to take care of poor children in remote, mountainous and extremely disadvantaged areas, who often have to deal with unusual weather conditions, cold seasons, dry seasons, and stormy seasons. Every year, Vietnamese sports and football stars will join hands and contribute to the newspaper to complete this mission.
