Pay attention to renovating works honoring martyrs
With more than 75 thousand outstanding sons who heroically sacrificed in the struggles for national liberation and protection of the Fatherland, Hung Yen province is one of the localities with the largest number of martyrs in the country. In recent years, with the attention of the Central Government, the province has focused many resources on renovating and upgrading works honoring martyrs, contributing to making the resting place of heroes more spacious, expressing deep gratitude for their noble sacrifice.

Quynh Hung martyr cemetery cluster (Quynh Phu commune) has been renovated and upgraded to be spacious and majestic.
Quynh Hung Martyrs' Cemetery (Quynh Phu Commune) is the resting place of 188 martyrs in Quynh Phu and Quynh An communes. In Quynh Phu Commune alone, there are currently 4 works honoring martyrs, including 3 martyrs' cemeteries and 1 martyrs' memorial. Built over many decades, through the rain and sun, the work has been repaired many times but has deteriorated. In 2024, with the attention of the State, the locality mobilized more socialized funding to renovate and upgrade, so the work has a new look, very spacious and majestic. Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Mui, Head of the Department of Culture - Society , Quynh Phu Commune said: At all martyrs' cemeteries, there are caretakers. On holidays and Tet, the locality organizes cleaning in the grounds of the memorial and martyrs' cemetery, expressing gratitude and appreciation to those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
The Quynh My Martyrs Cemetery cluster has 341 graves of martyrs and heroic Vietnamese mothers that have been renovated and upgraded. This is not only the resting place of the best children of the homeland and neighboring communes, but also a place to educate revolutionary patriotism, helping people of all walks of life, especially the younger generation, to better understand the contributions and sacrifices of their fathers and grandfathers to have a peaceful life today.
During the resistance wars of the nation, 862 sons of Tien Hung homeland heroically sacrificed. Recently, thanks to the mobilization of socialized funds and the active support of the people, the locality has built and inaugurated the Hong Viet Martyrs Memorial. The project was built on an area of 4,000 m2. includes many items with a total investment of nearly 11 billion VND.

Mr. Pham Hung Cuong, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: Although the locality has a small area and a small population, it has contributed a lot of human and material resources to the revolution. The commune has connected and mobilized a number of large corporations and enterprises to sponsor the construction of the Martyrs' Memorial. People in the commune also actively supported money and working days to contribute to creating a meaningful and impressive project. This is the aspiration of the Tien Hung people, expressing the sentiment and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" of today's generation with the excellent children who sacrificed their blood and youth for the country.
Hung Yen currently has 411 works honoring martyrs, including: 224 martyr cemeteries, 13 martyr temples, 101 martyr memorials and 73 martyr steles. In recent times, the work of caring for, upgrading and renovating works honoring martyrs has been carefully carried out by localities in the province. Many localities have proactively promoted internal strength along with mobilizing socialized funding sources to build, upgrade and renovate works. There are typical works honoring martyrs such as: Monument to heroic martyrs of the province (Pho Hien ward), My Hao martyrs cemetery (My Hao ward), Van Lam martyrs cemetery (Lac Dao commune), Temple of martyrs cemetery of Tien Hai commune...

Mr. Pham Dinh Tung, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, said: Upgrading and renovating works honoring martyrs as well as caring for those with meritorious services and their relatives to the revolution are the sacred responsibilities of today's generation. In the coming time, Hung Yen province will continue to seek the attention and support of the Central Government, while mobilizing and allocating many resources to focus on renovating and upgrading works honoring martyrs to be more spacious, majestic, worthy of the great sacrifice of heroic martyrs.
