According to the representative of the Quang Binh Economic Zone Management Board, the bustling operation of Cha Lo international border gate has promoted the import and export turnover of goods through the border gate and increased the state budget contribution, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Quang Binh province.
Captain Le Tien Dung, Head of the Cha Lo International Border Gate Border Station, said: The flow of people, goods and vehicles through customs has decreased compared to before the pandemic, but is still crowded, ranking among the top Vietnam-Laos border gates. Because the route from Thailand, Laos to Vietnam via National Highway 12A is the shortest and safest.
Talking about the impact of the Cha Lo international border gate economic zone on the locality, Mr. Bui Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Minh Hoa District Party Committee, said: The strong development of the Cha Lo international border gate economic zone has brought new momentum to the locality, especially the communes located along National Highway 12A. By 2030, the Cha Lo international border gate economic zone is expected to be an economic and urban center in the West of Quang Binh province; at that time, the mountainous communes in the West of Minh Hoa will have more positive changes.
To further improve the operation of this international border gate, the Management Board of Quang Binh Economic Zone continues to coordinate with relevant agencies to perform well the task of managing and operating activities at the border gate; strictly control entry and exit, import and export activities; create favorable conditions for enterprises in carrying out procedures for tax payment, customs clearance of goods, etc.
