The report "Vietnam Provincial Tourism Development Index VTDI 2024" was developed by the Private Economic Development Research Board and the Prime Minister's Advisory Council on Administrative Procedure Reform.
This report is intended for research and reference in the process of building local tourism development strategies, serving the task of comprehensive, fast and sustainable tourism development.
There are 30 localities nationwide selected for evaluation in the report "Vietnam Provincial Tourism Development Index VTDI 2024" based on a combination of many factors studied in VTCI (Vietnam Tourism Competitiveness Index) 2019 and 2021.
Accordingly, Quang Nam ranked 7th with 4.27 points. Other localities in the top 10 are: Da Nang City, Hanoi City, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Binh Dinh, Hue City and Hai Phong City.
It is known that the VTDI 2024 index is made up of 17 pillars and 111 indicators collected from tourism business surveys and other quantitative data sources. All indicators are standardized on a scale of 1 to 7. This scoring method allows the use of scores and rankings to evaluate the VTDI of provinces.
The assessment is based on five equally weighted index groups. Each index group consists of pillars and measurable indicators for assessment. Each pillar is assessed with a score. The average score of the pillars with the same weight is then the basis for assessing the index groups.
