Quang Ninh will complete the information system of environmental pollution sources.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Ninh province - Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hanh commented: Quang Ninh has been facing many conflicts and challenges affecting the quality of the air environment, especially the conflict between industrial development, especially coal mining, rapid urbanization with tourism and service development in the same area.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Ninh province delivered the opening speech at the workshop.

In order to continue to effectively promote the existing environmental monitoring system, promote the exploitation of digital data to serve environmental quality forecasting, publish, provide information and warnings to the community to prevent negative impacts caused by air pollution, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with the Joint Venture of the Center for Analysis and Environment - Joint Stock Company of the Environment and Construction Alliance, to implement the Project to investigate and build an information system for sources of air pollution to assess and forecast the spread of air pollutants.

Within the framework of the Project, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has established a solution to simulate the spread of air pollution to forecast in real time the spread of pollutants in the air environment in 5 localities in Quang Ninh province, including: Ha Long, Cam Pha, Uong Bi, Mong Cai, Dong Trieu; completed the information disclosure system and the sample bulletin "Forecast of air quality situation" to publish daily on the mass media.

At the workshop, delegates listened to leading experts and scientists from the Institute of Environmental Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Department of Environmental Pollution Control, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University - Hanoi present papers on the following contents: Assessment of the current state of the air environment and introduction of the information system of air pollution sources; Introduction of the real-time forecasting system for the spread of pollutants in the air environment; Introduction of the information disclosure system, daily "Forecast of environmental quality situation" bulletin on mass media.

The workshop also heard many opinions from representatives of departments, branches and production and business units in the coal and thermal power sectors in the province.

The completion and effective implementation of the Project has contributed to improving the effectiveness of warning and improving air quality, towards the goal of increasingly sustainable environmental protection.
