Planning Vietnam's 5G transmission 'highway'

The Ministry of Science and Technology has just issued information on radio frequency channel planning, creating a foundation for ultra-high-speed transmission infrastructure, contributing to the development of 5G.

The two frequency bands 71-76 GHz and 81-86 GHz have been assigned frequency channels, applicable to organizations and individuals participating in frequency management and use, as well as manufacturing, importing and trading radio equipment in Vietnam.

Bandwidth needs to be large enough to deploy 5G networks.

The Ministry's goal is to establish order in the use of radio frequency channels, unify applicable standards, and meet the demand for high- speed radio transmission. The Circular takes effect from May 15.

According to the Radio Frequency Department, this is an important step to complete the legal corridor for the use of E-band in Vietnam, creating a foundation for deploying ultra-high-speed transmission infrastructure - an essential component for developing a nationwide 5G network.
