The Ministry of Transport has just issued a decision approving the adjustment of the Investment Project for the construction of the Ho Chi Minh Highway bypass section east of Buon Ma Thuot city (the Project).

Accordingly, the project implementation timeline has been adjusted from 2020, with basic completion in 2024 and completion of procedures for commissioning in 2025. The total investment after adjustment is over 1,841 billion VND.

The Ministry of Transport requests the Dak Lak Provincial Project Management Board for Investment in Construction of Transport and Rural Development Projects to exercise the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the investor and the contents delegated and authorized according to Decision No. 729/QD-BGTVT dated June 15, 2023, of the Minister of Transport in organizing the implementation of the Project, ensuring the progress and quality of the works; to be fully responsible before the law and the Minister of Transport in the process of managing and implementing the Project, ensuring compliance with regulations on public investment, construction law, and bidding for the Project.

The report directs the Provincial People's Committee to instruct relevant units to review the accuracy and reasonableness of compensation, support, and resettlement costs; to check the calculation methods, results, and legality of specific land prices determined by the consulting unit; and to approve specific land prices in accordance with land law regulations. It also directs continued inspection and review of the procedures and processes for implementing the Project, ensuring that subsequent steps comply with current regulations. Furthermore, it emphasizes strict management of project expenses, ensuring that the total investment approved by the Ministry of Transport is not exceeded.

The Ho Chi Minh Highway project, the eastern bypass section of Buon Ma Thuot city, is over 39.6 km long, passing through the districts of Cu M'gar, Cu Kuin, Krong Pac, and Buon Ma Thuot city.
