On March 303, RB Leipzig fired head coach Marco Rose after a series of disappointing results. Notably, Jurgen Klopp was a significant influence on this decision despite the fact that the two were once close friends.
After announcing his departure from Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season, Klopp surprised the football world by accepting a senior management role at Red Bull from January 2025. Klopp is said to be unhappy with Leipzig's professional development under Rose, especially when the team is struggling in 6th place in the Bundesliga and is at risk of not qualifying for the Champions League next season, something that has not happened since 2019.
Before Rose was fired, Klopp personally went to the Leipzig training center to introduce himself to the players, a move seen as a "prelude" to the big change to come.
Immediately after parting ways with Rose, Red Bull appointed Zsolt Low as interim coach. This is a name that Klopp highly values. Low was a close assistant to Thomas Tuchel at PSG and Chelsea, and is expected to help Leipzig regain their form in the final stages of the season.
