Viettel 's technical team brings equipment to rescue BTS stations that are deeply submerged.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Quang, Director of Viettel Hue City, said that all 32 Viettel transaction stores, post offices, and supermarkets in the area are currently open, providing free phone charging services for the public. At the same time, all Viettel BTS stations are operating stably, with technical staff on duty 24/7 and sufficient fuel reserves to operate for 2-3 days.

“Technical teams from neighboring provinces have come to support Hue, transporting fuel, equipment, and batteries to ‘restore the signal.’ Currently, Viettel’s signal remains stable in 40 communes and wards throughout the city,” Mr. Quang said.

Customers charge their phones at mobile network provider service points.

According to Mr. Quang, a fiber optic cable belonging to Viettel and VNPT heading towards Nam Dong was severed due to a landslide, causing the cable to be swept away. However, Viettel has still maintained signal coverage in the area. Technical teams have crossed mountain passes and traversed landslides to restore communication, ready to splic the cable as soon as weather conditions permit. "People in Nam Dong can still make and receive calls normally," he added.

Mobifone and VNPT Hue City also deployed free phone charging points at their transaction stores. Mobifone and VinaPhone activated roaming on the Viettel network, helping customers of all three networks maintain stable communication during prolonged heavy rain and flooding.
