On the morning of December 18, the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support - Hanoi National University held the launching ceremony of the Innovative Startup Incubator.
Associate Professor Dr. Truong Ngoc Kiem, Director of the Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support, said that the establishment of this Incubator aims to help creative ideas and scientific and technological products of scientists and students inside and outside of Hanoi National University to be realized into products and services to serve social needs.
Mr. Tran Phi Long, Director of the Incubator shared: “We are committed to providing comprehensive support, from technology incubation, business development to connecting resources and market opportunities”.
The Hanoi National University Innovation and Startup Incubator will provide a variety of services to promote the innovation and startup ecosystem at Hanoi National University in particular and Vietnam in general. Some of the main activities of the Incubator include: Technology incubation, business incubation, resource connection and other services. In addition, this Incubator also cooperates with investment funds and domestic and foreign startup support organizations to create a favorable environment for startup development.
Sharing at the ceremony, Professor Le Quan, Director of Hanoi National University, said that startups must be associated with innovation, knowledge and science and technology to create added values.
Mr. Quan said that it is also important to note that creating something new is creativity, but the question needs to be answered: "Can that creativity be commercialized and will others accept payment? Even if payment is received, it is necessary to see if it is enough to cover costs and make a profit?"
Mr. Quan also mentioned that there are scientists who struggle for 10-15 years with their research. “They come up with many good and interesting research ideas, but they cannot sell them because the cost of producing the products for customers is too high,” the professor said.
The Director of Hanoi National University said that this Incubator has the task of developing the spirit of entrepreneurship and business, at the same time supporting those with good projects, connecting businesses; conducting screening, investing and providing financial and legal support for successful projects.
