Samsung Electronics is launching a large-scale restructuring strategy to regain its lead in the AI and HBM chip race. After a period of losing steam compared to rival SK Hynix, the company restructured its team, invested heavily in closed production processes and accelerated technology development.
Samsung's HBM3e chip line has just passed Nvidia's testing, marking a turning point in the journey to regain the trust of the largest partner in the AI industry. Huge deals like the $16.5 billion deal with Tesla and the Stargate project with OpenAI are blowing optimism into Samsung's stock.
However, SK Hynix still holds the lead with HBM4, a more advanced chip line and is still holding the lead with HBM4 being prioritized in the supply chain. Samsung expects to close the technology gap with the next-generation HBM4, expected to launch in 2026 with a 1C nm process. This comeback is not only a technology race but also a symbol of the recovery spirit of Korean industry.
If successful, Samsung could once again reshape the global AI chip map and assert its position as the “memory king” in the era of artificial intelligence. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Iris scanning tool to verify human | VTV24
