Stage 20 of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup - Ton Dong A 2025 with a route of 129.5km from Vung Tau City to Bien Hoa City continued to witness impressive performances from foreign players.

Despite the harsh coastal weather, the pace of the race was pushed up after the start, thanks to the tireless attacks from the riders who did not pose a big threat to the top positions in the overall standings.

And runner Nguyen Van Binh (HCMC - New Group) won the first sprint in Chau Duc district (Ba Ria - Vung Tau). But just past this milestone, the foreign players attacked strongly to escape.

Initially, there were only yellow jerseys Mikhail Fokin (Loc Troi An Giang Group), Loic Desriac (Domesco Dong Thap Pharmaceutical) and Samuel Jenner (620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long). Then they proactively let Savva Novikov (Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastic) join, creating a leading group with 4 extremely strong "tractors".

The leading group at times created a gap of more than 3 minutes compared to the large group behind - which did not agree to chase because they had their own tactical calculations.

So the 4 foreign players always maintained a safe distance. Loic Desriac was the one who won sprint 2 in Trang Bom district ( Dong Nai ).

But when reaching the finish line, Samuel Jenner sprinted past Savva Novikov to win the stage in Bien Hoa City. This was also the first stage win for the Australian cyclist at the 2025 Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup.

Samuel Jenner shared: "Today's stage was a fierce battle for third place in the team standings and the green jersey. I was surprised that the group of four strong riders could escape together. I myself did not think I would win the stage in a sprint because I am strong in the hills."

After 20 stages, the top positions in the overall rankings remain unchanged. Mikhail Fokin successfully defended the yellow jersey. Meanwhile, the green jersey still belongs to Nicholas Kergozou. Nguyen Hoang Sang continues to hold the orange jersey for the best Vietnamese racer.

On April 26, the racers will compete in stage 21 from Bien Hoa City to My Tho City with a route of 133km.
