On the evening of March 24, Phu Quoc City Medical Center said that at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, relatives completed the necessary procedures to bring the pregnant woman HTM (39 years old, temporarily residing in Cua Duong commune) home to prepare for the funeral.

Doctor Dong Nguyen Cong Quoc - Intensive Care Department, Phu Quoc City Medical Center - said that due to severe hemorrhage and blood clotting disorder, Ms. M. had to be put on a ventilator, was in a deep coma, and had low blood pressure. Ms. M.'s prognosis was very poor. Her family later asked to be transferred home.

As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , at around 6:20 p.m. on March 23, Phu Quoc City Medical Center received pregnant woman M. in a state of confusion due to hemorrhage.

Doctors at Phu Quoc City Medical Center examined and diagnosed hemorrhagic shock due to placenta previa and bleeding in a 21-week (4.5-month) fetus. After that, doctors performed emergency surgery in the hope of saving the mother's life.

Due to excessive blood loss, the mother M. suffered from a blood clotting disorder. Her blood type is O+ and it is difficult to find a compatible match.

At around 10pm on March 23, on the Phu Quoc Facebook community, there was a post calling for O+ blood donations to save a pregnant woman M. who was suffering from hemorrhage.

Afterwards, hundreds of people living and working in Phu Quoc came to Phu Quoc City Medical Center to get tested and donate blood to save the pregnant woman M..
