Ready to conquer the 10th grade entrance exam

Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Do Dang Bao Linh said: "This is the first year of the 10th grade entrance exam according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program, so from the beginning of the second semester, the department has issued an illustrative exam structure according to the new program, contributing to guiding students to review and prepare for this important exam."

Don't be subjective before the exam

This year's 10th grade entrance exam is expected to be significantly "cooler" compared to previous years due to the number of students completing the 9th grade program (2024-2025 school year) decreasing by about 20,000 students. This leads to a decrease of more than 5,000 students in the number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam for public high schools (2025-2026 school year) compared to the previous school year's exam.

Although it was predicted that this year's 10th grade entrance exam would be significantly less stressful, both candidates and parents were still not complacent.

Pham Quoc Khanh, a student at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School (Trung Dung Ward, Bien Hoa City), said: “I have registered for the Math specialized class at Luong The Vinh High School for the Gifted and my first choice is Tran Bien High School. These two schools often attract candidates with good and excellent academic performance, so I do not allow myself to be subjective. In the past, I have divided my review time for each subject appropriately. In addition to self-study, I also take the time to practice for advanced exercises, especially for the Math specialized exam.”

Ms. Le Minh Luong, a teacher at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, said that according to Circular 29 of the Ministry of Education and Training on extra teaching and learning, in the second semester, students will not be allowed to take extra classes with teachers they are currently studying in the regular class. Therefore, in the past time, she had to take advantage of regular teaching time to enhance advanced knowledge in Literature for students... In addition, for students who need to discuss more about the content of the Literature exam outside of class, she is still ready to answer.

Ensure absolute safety for the exam
The 10th grade entrance exam is an important exam, organized on a large scale, and takes place at a time when the whole province is focusing on the work of arranging the organization of the 2-level government apparatus and merging Binh Phuoc province with Dong Nai. Therefore, in addition to the Department of Education and Training, the sectors must coordinate smoothly, clearly define the people, the work and the responsibilities in the organization. Absolutely do not be negligent or subjective, affecting the organization of the exam.

Facilitate candidates

According to the Department of Education and Training, in May and June, the department will organize two important exams: the 10th grade entrance exam and the 2025 high school graduation exam. For the 10th grade entrance exam, the department has coordinated with departments, branches, localities and affiliated high schools to prepare for the exam, ensuring the goals of safety, seriousness and compliance with regulations.

Up to this point, the Provincial Police are providing maximum support to the Department to ensure absolute safety for the organization of exam questions, printing and copying of exam questions, and at the same time preparing forces and means for the handover of exam questions to exam sites throughout the province. In addition, the Provincial Police assign officers to ensure the safety of exam questions from the time the questions are delivered to the exam sites until the end of the exam organization and handover of exam questions to the province. In addition to assigning officers to ensure internal security, the Provincial Police also assigns officers and soldiers to ensure security and order at all exam sites.

Meanwhile, the secondary and high schools chosen as exam venues have been carefully prepared for the office area of the head of the exam site, the exam council room, the official and backup exam rooms, the medical area, the candidate storage area, etc.

Nguyen Thanh Bang, Principal of Nhon Trach High School (Nhon Trach District), said: “In addition to the conditions of the examination room and other functional rooms as required by the Department, the school has coordinated with the electricity industry to re-examine the power supply system to ensure safety. This is a step in preparation not only for the 10th grade entrance exam, but also for the upcoming high school graduation exam.”

Vice Chairman of Trang Bom District People's Committee Do Ngoc Nam said that for the upcoming 10th grade entrance exam, there are two high schools in the district under the Department of Education and Training that will organize the exam: Ngo Si Lien High School and Thong Nhat A High School. At this time, the district is focusing on the work of organizing the apparatus, many tasks are very busy, but the District People's Committee has met and assigned relevant departments and units, especially the police force, to closely coordinate with the schools to ensure the exam takes place carefully and safely.
