A day on the sunny and windy training ground |
Growing in training
In the bright morning sunlight, the straight rows of soldiers, all facing the stands, where the soldiers solemnly performed the ceremony of kissing the Military Flag (the National Flag embroidered with the words "Determined to Win"). That was a solemn and touching image, during the CSM oath-taking ceremony under the "Determined to Win" flag, at the HL-CD Battalion, organized by the Hue City Border Guard Command.
The ceremony was a “slow motion film” going back in time from 3 months ago; recording the days of serious, hard training, sweat soaked the uniforms of officers and soldiers on the training ground. Those were the difficult hours of training in order for the CSM: Forming straight lines, practicing standing at attention under the sun for 10 - 20 - 30 minutes to an hour. Those were the sessions of rolling, crawling, shooting, throwing grenades or jumping up in the middle of the night when hearing the marching alarm, combat alarm… From being surprised, “clumsy”, with the spirit of determination “sweat on the training ground, bleed less on the battlefield” and constant efforts, the CSM has achieved high efficiency in training.
Before the Victory Flag, the head of the City Border Guard Command and all officers and soldiers of the unit, Lieutenant Colonel Le Tuan Tai, Battalion Commander of the HL-CD Battalion, boldly said: In 2025, the HL-CD Battalion was assigned the task of training 120 CSMs. After 3 months of training, the CSMs were equipped with basic knowledge of politics , military, techniques, and tactics of the combined arms; learned about the revolutionary traditions of the Vietnam People's Army; the Border Guard force and the Hue City Border Guard force through 60 years of fighting, building, and growing.
Through the test, 120 CSMs have mastered the content, practiced the movements proficiently, especially the content of infantry combat techniques, specifically demonstrated through the results of the 3-explosion test, ensuring absolute safety for people and weapons.
Lieutenant Colonel Le Tuan Tai emotionally shared: What is more important is that each CSM has truly matured in all aspects; has a high sense of collectiveness, discipline, solidarity, and is ready to help comrades and teammates in performing their duties and in life. CSM is the core youth force, effectively participating in volunteer movements for the community, helping and accompanying people and localities on the two border lines, deployed and organized by the City Border Guard.
Efforts
According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Son, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the HL-CD Battalion, in order to carry out the training task with the highest efficiency, the unit has proactively developed a plan to ensure content and time; carefully prepared documents, teaching models, training grounds, and training grounds; organized training for cadres doing training work; drafted and practiced lesson plans, and approved full lesson plans for all subjects before implementing training.
The Battalion Party Committee has issued a specialized resolution on leadership in training work, clearly assigning tasks to each officer in CSM training work. At the same time, the leadership and direction must do a good job of management, command, training, practice, and taking care of the material and spiritual life of officers and soldiers.
One of the effective solutions is to innovate the working style, build 100% of theoretical lectures with powerpoint presentations for soldiers to visualize, creating vivid visualization in learning. “In addition to ensuring a spacious, green, clean, beautiful, bright infrastructure; taking care of every meal and sleep so that CSM is mentally and physically healthy, commanders at all levels are always close to encourage and promptly resolve recommendations and proposals; in particular, have synchronously implemented politicaleducation measures, managed soldiers' ideology with many new, creative, and effective models, measures, and methods, such as "Zalo group of soldiers' rear", "Group of 3 people advancing together" ..., contributing to making CSM feel secure, excited, thereby focusing highly and making efforts in training" - Lieutenant Colonel Le Van Son shared.
The training course took place in hot, harsh weather conditions, with periods of prolonged rain and dry sunshine, but the officers and soldiers overcame those difficulties. CSMs proactively and actively studied, grasped, and absorbed basic knowledge of politics, military, logistics, and engineering. After 3 months of training according to the General Staff's program, CSMs were proficient in using the weapons equipped, individual tactics in combat, as well as regulations, rules, and building a regular routine, actively training and improving physical strength, and mastering the contents of technical logistics work.
After the oath-taking ceremony, the CSMs continued to be trained in basic knowledge of Border Guard operations - State laws related to the task of managing and protecting national border security and sovereignty..., ready to depart to receive and perform well the tasks on the two border lines.
