The Ministry of Information and Communications, in coordination with the Central Economic Commission and the People's Committee of Binh Duong province, organized the 2nd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development with the theme: "Innovative application of digital technology in industries and fields to develop the digital economy and improve labor productivity".
This is an annual event, organized with the aim of bringing together state management agencies, businesses and leading experts to discuss issues related to the development of the digital economy and digital society in Vietnam.
Increasing social labor productivity is one of the important goals set forth in Party resolutions. General Secretary To Lam directed, "To develop sustainably, we must rely on available resources, promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, and self-reliance, and there is no other way but to increase labor productivity" [1]. The digital economy must become the main driving force for rapid and sustainable growth, improving productivity, quality, efficiency, and competitiveness of the economy.

With the theme of "Innovative application of digital technology in industries and fields to develop the digital economy and improve labor productivity", the 2nd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development aims to promote the innovation of Vietnamese digital applications and the application of artificial intelligence and digital data to contribute to solving the problem of improving labor productivity and developing Vietnam's digital economy.
The content of the presentations at the Forum focused on:
Firstly, digitally transform businesses in industries and sectors to create new growth drivers based on data, digital technology and innovation, improve governance capacity, manage the operation of economic and social infrastructure systems, manage business operations, create new business models and improve labor productivity, focusing on 5 groups of industries and sectors: trade, agriculture, manufacturing and processing industry, tourism and logistics.
Second, promote the demand for products and services in the digital environment, accelerate digital transformation of businesses, stores, wholesale and retail businesses, stimulate e-commerce consumption, especially for quality products made in Vietnam.
In 2024, the 2nd National Forum on Digital Economy and Digital Society Development will be held on November 13 and 14 at the Binh Duong Convention & Exhibition Center. The event will be attended by leaders from the Central Economic Commission, Government leaders, ministries, branches and localities. The forum will include 01 high-level session, 03 thematic seminars and an exhibition of technology applications for the development of the digital economy and digital society.
