On October 25, the People's Committee of Phu Loc commune ( Hue city) announced that the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hue city has just issued a decision to declare an emergency situation regarding coastal landslides in Tan An Hai village, Phu Loc commune.

According to the People's Committee of Hue City, from October 21 to 23, due to the influence of storm No. 12, heavy to very heavy rains occurred in the city, and river water levels rose. In the Tu Hien area, winds reached level 5 and 6, gusting to level 8, combined with storm surges and coastal high tides, causing damage to infrastructure and landslides on river banks and coastlines.

In particular, the coastal section through Hai Binh residential area (Tan An Hai village, Phu Loc commune) has suffered severe erosion with a length of about 500m, eroding 10-15m deep into the mainland, up to 20m in some places and directly eroding the traffic route from 0.5-2m. This is the only route leading to Hai Binh residential area (Tan An Hai village) where 63 households currently live.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep, Chairman of Phu Loc Commune People's Committee, said that currently, the sea waves are rising and there is a risk of continued widespread erosion, causing damage and collapse of the road and isolating the entire Hai Binh residential area, affecting people's lives and socio-economic development...

The People's Committee of Hue City assigned the Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Loc Commune, Head of the Commune Civil Defense Command to continue to urgently mobilize forces, means and assign specific tasks to each member to regularly monitor the landslide situation at the scene, promptly take response measures; mobilize legal resources for emergency handling, reinforcement, and initial landslide prevention to limit landslides and traffic route disruption during rains, storms, and floods.

At the same time, local authorities were assigned to put up warning signs, delineate dangerous areas, arrange guards, guide people to travel safely in the area; increase communication so that tourists know about the risk of coastal erosion and proactively take preventive and response measures.
Hue City People's Committee directed the City's Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project Management Board to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to urgently develop an emergency plan to prevent landslides in the above-mentioned area, and send it to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for consideration and agreement on the plan...
