SEA Games 32: Promises an impressive and memorable closing night in Cambodia

According to a VNA reporter in Phnom Penh, amid the final competition days of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32), host country Cambodia is busy preparing for the closing event that promises to be as memorable and impressive as the opening ceremony, scheduled to take place in the middle of next week.

According to the schedule, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen will preside over the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games with the participation of many international guests at Morodok Techo National Stadium in Phnom Penh on the evening of May 17.

Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the Cambodian National Olympic Committee and Secretary General of the National Committee for the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) of the host country, said that the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games will be organized similarly to the opening ceremony but will incorporate new, unique and different art performances.

Through that, introducing the culture, civilization and traditions of the country and people of Cambodia, promises to bring satisfaction, joy and impression to the public.

According to the Secretary General of CAMSOC, the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games was held on a moderate scale according to the convention of sporting events but had its own unique features with an art performance program mobilizing nearly 2,000 actors to participate, promising a performance that brought many emotions mixed with joy and pride for an impressive and successful SEA Games in Cambodia.

Officials of the host country of the 32nd SEA Games also noted the top priority in ensuring security and order, ensuring the safety of people participating in the closing event of the games.

Due to limited seating capacity, unable to accommodate tens of thousands of people attending the closing ceremony in person, CAMSOC has decided to issue a new type of ticket for the regional sports festival closing ceremony.

Previously, the grand opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games took place on the evening of May 5 at Morodok Techo National Stadium on the outskirts of Phnom Penh under the chairmanship of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, attracting more than 70,000 attendees, making a strong impression on leaders of countries, guests and the public, as well as regional and international media.

The 32nd SEA Games is a regional sporting event hosted by Cambodia for the first time, attracting more than 12,400 members of sports delegations from 10 member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Timor Leste to compete in 37 sports with 581 events.

With the slogan "Sports - Living in peace", the 32nd SEA Games officially took place from May 5-17 at many stadiums and competition areas in the capital Phnom Penh and the provinces of Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot and Kep.
