UTH students experience public transport, spreading green travel habits

From the hall to the street – when knowledge blends into urban life

More than just a call, this journey is a living, breathing classroom.

The “student ambassadors” wearing UTH uniforms, blend in with the flow of people on inner-city buses and metro line 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) – the two most obvious symbols of the effort to transform towards a sustainable urban transport system.

On the bus, candidate Nguyen Thanh Gia Tien (SBD 140) shared: “When using public transport directly, I see more clearly the convenience, civilization and importance of reducing personal vehicles. This is a small but meaningful thing, if UTH students do it together, we can make a big change.”

Images of young students happily scanning payment codes, waiting at stations, chatting with locals… have created a simple yet inspiring picture of civilized travel habits and respect for the community – which is gradually becoming a new norm in modern society.

“Green Traffic Week” – starting with real action

According to the Organizing Committee, the campaign "Green Traffic Week - UTH students use public transport" is implemented by the Youth Union - Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, lasting until the end of 2025, peaking from November 15 to 22, 2025.

The campaign aims to raise awareness and form green, safe, and environmentally friendly travel habits among students. Each bus or metro trip of students not only helps reduce traffic pressure, but also spreads a message of civilized urban lifestyle.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Quang Phu, Vice Principal of the School, said: “Today’s experience not only helps students better understand the value of public transport, but also arouses awareness and pride in contributing to the process of building a civilized, green and modern Ho Chi Minh City.”

Spreading the spirit of UTH students – taking action for a sustainable future

The journey of the Top 28 “UTH Student Ambassadors 2025” is a natural extension of two activities: educating civic awareness and honoring modern student models.

If the “UTH Student Ambassador” contest honors bravery, intelligence and style, today’s experience journey proves through action – that UTH students do not just talk, but are willing to step into reality to spread green living values.

The campaign is expected to become an annual movement, contributing to building the habit of using public transport when going to school, towards "UTH - Intelligence, Civilization, Action for the community."
