Permanent Vice President of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Huu Giang presented the results of union activities in the first 6 months of the year.
Since the beginning of the year, trade union activities have focused resources on organizing and taking care of Lunar New Year, with 263,725 union members and workers benefiting, with a total amount of over 109 billion VND.
In Workers' Month 2025, trade unions at all levels will carry out a peak in developing union members, establishing 9 new grassroots unions, developing 1,307 new union members, and introducing 408 outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit.
In particular, the care work during Workers' Month is given maximum priority towards the grassroots. Over 46,000 union members, workers, civil servants and laborers benefited from the material and spiritual care activities, with a total amount of over 20 billion VND.
Trade unions at all levels commended and rewarded 11 collectives and 114 individuals with outstanding achievements in "Studying and following the examples of Uncle Ho and Uncle Ton" in 2025, the emulation movement for excellent workers and creative workers in the period 2020 - 2025.
In the first 6 months of the year, the province established 18 grassroots unions, dissolved 49 grassroots unions (due to organizational restructuring), developed 7,620 union members, and actually increased 6,020 union members (reaching 38% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor ). In addition, 703 outstanding union members were introduced to the Party for consideration of admission (including 102 outstanding union members who were workers in non-state enterprises), thereby admitting 211 people to the Party.
Trade unions at all levels also coordinate with the government to effectively represent and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers; promptly grasp the situation, thoughts and aspirations of union members, cadres, civil servants and public employees in the work of restructuring the apparatus and streamlining the payroll in agencies and units.
At the conference, the Provincial Federation of Labor announced and handed over the decision to receive 406 grassroots trade unions under the management of the Provincial Federation of Labor; announced the dissolution and termination of activities of 15 grassroots trade unions directly above the grassroots from June 30, 2025.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded the Medal "For the cause of building trade union organizations" to trade union officials with many contributions.
Awarding the Comprehensive Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to collectives with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement and building a strong trade union organization in 2024.
Awarding Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to 8 collectives and 18 individuals with achievements in emulation for excellent and creative labor.
The Provincial Federation of Labor awarded 8 collectives and 1 individual with outstanding achievements in Workers' Month 2025; awarded 2 collectives and 1 individual with outstanding achievements in implementing the peak month of union member development and establishing grassroots unions.
