The Department of Agriculture and Environment jointly organized a training conference on environmental protection.

On September 19, Hanoi University of Natural Resources and Environment - Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with Son La Department of Agriculture and Environment opened a training conference on state management of environmental protection for ministries, branches and localities in 2025.

The training course was attended by more than 100 trainees who are civil servants and public employees of state management units and public service units under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Son La, Dien Bien and Lao Cai provinces; representatives of the People's Committees of communes and wards in the area; and many officials working in the environmental field from the central to local levels.

During the training session, trainees were exposed to many key topics, including: Regulations of the Law on Environmental Protection and documents guiding its implementation; documents on authority, decentralization, and decentralization in the environmental field; regulations on environmental impact assessment, environmental licensing, environmental registration or exemption from environmental registration; requirements on environmental records for investment projects; overview of domestic waste management associated with the implementation of Directive No. 20/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister ; and solutions for effective management of domestic waste after merging administrative units and implementing 2-level local government. The training class also spent a lot of time discussing real-life situations, directly answering difficulties and problems that grassroots officials encountered in the process of implementing tasks.

Through the training course, trainees have consolidated their knowledge, raised awareness and skills in enforcing environmental laws, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management in this field. In particular, in the context of implementing a two-level government and the requirements of sustainable development, strengthening the capacity of grassroots cadres is even more important, helping localities to be more proactive in handling environmental issues, towards the goal of socio -economic development associated with protecting resources and the environment.
