The Department of Agriculture and Environment - Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences held a consultation meeting on transforming the food system to be transparent, responsible and sustainable in Son La province by 2030.

On the morning of October 17, 2025, at the Hall of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Mr. Tran Dung Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment and Mr. Tran Minh Tien - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences co-chaired the consultation meeting. Attending the meeting were a working delegation including the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences (VAAS), the Department of Cooperative Economics and Rural Development, the Center for Agricultural Systems Research and Development (CASRAD), the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), the Food Environment and Consumer Behavior Group; Son La province had representatives of provincial departments, branches, and some representatives of enterprises and cooperatives in Son La province.

The meeting aimed to consult with relevant agencies and organizations on ideas for mobilizing multi-stakeholder resources, contributing to the implementation of Plan No. 161/KH-UBND dated July 29, 2025, of the Son La Provincial People's Committee on transforming the food system into a transparent, responsible, and sustainable one in Son La province by 2030.

          The meeting heard the National Action Plan on Transforming the Food System towards Transparency, Accountability, and Sustainability by 2030 , which outlines: Multidimensional challenges to agriculture and food security, nutrition; five key tasks; solutions and implementation organization.

Here , delegates also heard a report on the implementation of technical assistance in developing the Food System Transformation Plan in Son La province and approved it. Plan No. 161/KH-UBND dated July 28, 2025, on transforming the food system in Son La province to be transparent, responsible, and sustainable by 2030, focuses on implementing the general objective and 16 specific goals, 5 tasks, and solutions. Delegates conducted group discussions on programs/projects related to the food security system in the province. They linked these programs, projects, and activities to the priority tasks mentioned in Plan 161/KH-UBND; proposed programs, projects, and activities to promote the implementation of these tasks in the coming period; and provided information and identified detailed resources for the projects and potential partners for cooperation.

          The meeting concluded with a consensus on the steps to organize and implement the system transformation in a sustainable, transparent, and responsible manner, in accordance with the plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee, ensuring timeliness and effectiveness .
