Each team consisted of 5 members: 3 people directly picking, 1 person carrying the fruit on a shoulder pole and 1 reserve member, showing solidarity and coordination in each operation.

Teams have a total of 20 minutes to complete the competition, including 2 minutes of preparation, 15 minutes of fruit picking and 3 minutes of post-harvest processing. Teams draw lots to determine the location of the competition tree. When the starting signal is sounded, the hands quickly and skillfully pick each bunch of ripe red fruit, strictly following the technical regulations, not shaking the tree, breaking branches or damaging the foliage.

The judges scored based on the following criteria: methodical organization, reasonable division of labor; fast and technical picking; positive working spirit; 100% ripe coffee, clean of impurities and processed according to requirements.
