Son La: Discovered and seized 16,432 synthetic drug pills

On June 4, information from the Son La Provincial Border Guard said: During the peak month of attacking and suppressing drug-related crimes, from June 1-3, the anti-drug force of the Son La Provincial Border Guard directly and jointly seized 16,432 synthetic drug pills in the border area.

At 11:00 p.m. on June 3, in Ong Ly village, Chieng Khua commune, Moc Chau town, Son La province, Long Sap Border Guard Station, Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Chieng Khua commune police discovered and arrested 2 subjects for illegal possession of drugs.

The arrested subject is Ha Van Tran, born on February 17, 1989, residing in Tong village, Chieng Khua commune, Moc Chau town, Son La. The seized evidence includes 45 synthetic drug pills, about 2.5 grams of heroin, and 1 motorbike.

The second subject is Giang A Cha, born on July 3, 2000, residing in Ong Ly village, Chieng Khua commune, Moc Chau town, Son La province. The seized evidence includes 5 synthetic drug pills, 1 motorbike and 1 mobile phone.

Subject Ha Van Tran, residing in Tong village, Chieng Khua commune, Moc Chau town, Son La.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thai Hoa, Head of the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Son La Provincial Border Guard, added: At 1:30 p.m. on June 2, in the border patrol area, Bua Hin village, Muong Hung commune, Song Ma district, Son La province, Muong Cai Border Guard Station coordinated with the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Son La Provincial Border Guard, and Muong Hung Commune Police (Song Ma district) to discover and seize 382 synthetic drug pills and 1.05 grams of heroin.

The subject discovered and caught red-handed by the authorities for illegally buying and selling drugs was Vi Van Nguyen, born in 1991, residing in Na Cam village, Muong Hung commune, Song Ma district, Son La province.

Through initial investigation, Vi Van Nguyen confessed to buying the above drugs from a strange man, whose identity is unknown, in the Vietnam-Laos border area to bring back to sell for profit.

According to authorities, Vi Van Nguyen had a previous conviction for robbery and had just completed his prison term in 2021.

Subject Giang A Cha, residing in Ong Ly village, Chieng Khua commune, Moc Chau town, Son La province.

Previously, at 2:00 p.m. on June 1, at Phieng Cai village, Long Sap commune, Moc Chau town, Son La province, PC04 Department, Son La Provincial Police coordinated with the Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Son La Provincial Border Guard, Long Sap Border Guard Station, Chieng Son Border Guard Station to seize 16,000 synthetic drug pills.

The subject arrested for illegally buying and selling 16,000 synthetic drug pills is Thao A De, born in 1982, residing in Pa Hang village, Sop Bau district, Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The case is currently being investigated by the Son La Provincial Border Guard in coordination with relevant authorities.
