PC gaming market explodes on Steam

This new record continues Steam's streak of success in 2024, with notable milestones previously including:

  • 8.12.2024: 39.2 million players
  • 23.9.2024: 38.3 million players
  • August 26, 2024: 37.2 million players
  • March 15, 2024: 36.3 million players
  • 2.3.2024: 34.2 million players
  • 7.1.2024: 33.6 million players

This growth shows that Steam is in a strong position against competition from other platforms like the Epic Games Store. While the Epic Games Store has also recorded significant progress, with 295 million accounts and a growing monthly active user base, Steam is still too large and irreplaceable.

The record of 40 million online users is also a testament to the strong growth of the PC gaming market. The large number of players creates favorable conditions for game developers, promoting the birth of quality games.

Typically, the newly released game Monster Hunter Wilds has attracted up to 1.38 million concurrent players on Steam, showing the strong appeal and huge commercial potential of the PC game market at the present time.
