The 2nd Division deployed nearly 450 officers and soldiers to build houses for the people of Dak Lak.

(Chinhphu.vn) - To continue supporting households severely affected by floods in Dak Lak province, on the morning of December 16, nearly 450 officers and soldiers of the 2nd Division (Military Region 5), divided into 37 teams and 45 groups, mobilized to Dak Lak province to directly participate in building 37 new houses for households whose homes were completely destroyed by the floods.

Thus, during this flood, the 2nd Division undertook the construction of 83 new houses for the local people.

In addition, 45 task forces were organized to repair severely damaged houses, and at the same time carry out dredging of irrigation canals, clearing waterways, and supporting people in quickly restoring agricultural production.

Recently, in response to the severe damage to housing and infrastructure caused by floods, the 2nd Division has urgently mobilized thousands of officers and soldiers to the heavily affected areas to support the people. With the spirit of "Helping the people is a command from the heart," the officers and soldiers of the Division have overcome difficulties, stayed in the affected areas, and contributed their efforts alongside local Party committees and authorities to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster and rebuild 46 houses for households whose homes were destroyed by the floods.

Assigning the mobile force to Dak Lak for support (second phase), Colonel Nguyen Truong Sinh, Division Commander, emphasized that helping the people is both an important political task and an expression of the officers and soldiers' feelings and responsibilities towards the people in the disaster-stricken areas. "We must be determined to overcome difficulties, accelerate progress, ensure quality, and strive to complete the construction and repair of houses as soon as possible so that households have stable housing, can work and produce with peace of mind, and celebrate the Lunar New Year in new, spacious homes filled with the warmth of the military-civilian solidarity," Colonel Nguyen Truong Sinh demanded.

The timely and responsible contributions of the officers and soldiers of the 2nd Division not only helped the people of Dak Lak province overcome immediate difficulties, but also further affirmed the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime – always standing side by side with the people in times of hardship and adversity, strengthening the close and inseparable bond between the Army and the People.
