Business accompaniment in solving national 'problems'

In the journey of socio-economic development, all policies and strategies can only be truly effective when accompanied and supported by the business community.

From the spirit of "creation" to the reality of "action"

In recent years, especially in the context of many big "problems" in economics , trade, green transformation and international integration, the commitment of businesses to accompany the Government has become increasingly clear, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility to the country.

Since the Government has established the motto of “A creative, honest, active Government serving the people and businesses”, the relationship between the State and businesses has entered a new phase: from management to companionship, from direction to cooperation. The business community is not only a policy beneficiary but also becomes a part of the policy planning and implementation process.

A clear demonstration of that spirit is the Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) 2025, with the theme "Enterprises accompany the Government in green transformation in the digital age". At the forum, the leader of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) affirmed: "Committed to accompanying the Government in green transformation, the digital age, FDI enterprises and Vietnamese enterprises are two parallel pillars".

This year's VBF is no longer just a place for "proposals and recommendations" but has become an action forum where the business community proactively makes specific commitments with the Government in solving the country's "big problems" such as digital transformation, green transformation, improving competitiveness and developing the domestic market.

In reality, the big goals set by the Government such as developing a green economy, a circular economy, achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, etc. can only be achieved with the strong participation of businesses. They are the force that directly invests in technology, improves production, innovates management and brings sustainable initiatives into economic life.

Many businesses have pioneered this trend. Hoa Phat Group applies clean coke production technology with heat recovery at the Hai Duong Iron and Steel Complex, with a factory complex that can generate electricity from the heat recovery process, meeting almost the maximum internal electricity demand, saving energy and reducing emissions.

Vingroup, through its member company VinFast, has launched the campaign “Fierce Vietnamese Spirit – For a Green Future”, promoting the habit of consuming environmentally friendly means of transport, towards the goal of greening transport.

FPT Corporation and Vingroup also signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to promote digital transformation and green transformation in Vietnam, affirming the role of Vietnamese technology enterprises in not only participating but also leading the process of digital transformation and national greening.

This companionship does not stop at commitments on the forum, but is demonstrated by concrete actions. When the Government promoted the National Digital Transformation Strategy, a series of Vietnamese technology enterprises pioneered in providing digital platforms, data infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions for ministries, branches and localities.

These examples show that businesses are shifting from a passive to an active role; they not only “do business” but also “make policies” for themselves and the community, working with the Government to overcome difficulties, create growth momentum and spread the spirit of social responsibility.

It is commendable that, despite facing numerous difficulties, from the pandemic, global economic fluctuations to new trade barriers, many Vietnamese enterprises still maintain their orientation towards sustainable development. Many enterprises not only think about immediate profits but also link their interests with national interests, which is the highest expression of the spirit of "accompanying the Government".

Initiatives such as “Enterprise for the community” and “Green transformation with the Government” have become widespread movements, demonstrating the spirit of responsibility and business mettle in the new period.

When the State launched the program "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", manufacturing and distribution enterprises have continuously improved the quality of goods, innovated designs, and expanded the distribution system to remote areas.

In the international arena, as the Government strives to negotiate and sign new generation free trade agreements, it is businesses that are the force that realizes opportunities, contributing to strengthening Vietnam's position on the global trade map.

Need for an “action alliance” between the State and businesses

Looking back on the past, it can be affirmed that all of the country's development achievements are associated with the tireless efforts of the business community, those who "roll up their sleeves" with the Government to realize the aspiration of a strong Vietnam.

Thanks to the strong leadership of the Government and the spirit of cooperation of enterprises, Vietnam's economy has achieved many impressive results. In 2024, Vietnam's GDP is estimated to increase by 7.09%, total import-export turnover of goods reached 786.29 billion USD, up 15.4% compared to 2023, a remarkable figure in the context of many fluctuations in the global economy.

In 2025, the Government aims for GDP growth of at least 8%, while striving to bring total import-export turnover to the 900 billion USD mark. To achieve these challenging goals, the Government has determined that it must unleash “new growth drivers”, at the heart of which is the business community, with a pioneering role in digital transformation, green economy and innovation.

However, for the Vietnamese economy to accelerate sustainably, there are still many “problems” that need to be solved, such as labor productivity, human resource quality, technological innovation and the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises. To solve these problems, there needs to be a real “action alliance” between the State, enterprises and the whole society.

The Government creates, the enterprise creates, these are two inseparable pillars in the national development strategy. If the State plays the role of “conductor” in creating a transparent environment and stable policies, then the enterprise is the “key player”, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility.

In the context of the world shifting strongly towards digitalization, greening and deep globalization, Vietnam needs a strong connection between the Government and the business community to maintain growth momentum, ensure economic security and build the image of a dynamic, trustworthy and sustainably developing country.

In the new period, when the country is facing the need to innovate the growth model, green transformation, digital transformation and deep integration, the strong commitment and companionship of enterprises are of special significance. Only when the Government and enterprises look in the same direction, share responsibility and act together for the common good, can Vietnam overcome all the "big problems" of the era with intelligence, courage and community strength.
