Recently, on social networks TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, a man claiming to be Professor, Doctor Ha Duy Tho regularly posts clips about cancer and nutritional knowledge, causing many people to misunderstand.
On November 14, the Inspectorate of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that it had just coordinated with the Phu Nhuan District Health Department, Ward 9 People's Committee and Ward 9 Police, Phu Nhuan District to suddenly inspect house number 671/15 Nguyen Kiem, Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City - the location of advertising on social networks about cancer treatment consultation.
At the time of inspection, the team noted that this house was being used as an unlicensed medical practice by Mr. Ha Duy Tho and Ms. Dang Thi Tuyet Thu (Mr. Tho's wife). The house has 4 floors, the ground floor in the front has 1 examination table and 1 reception table. Behind is the kitchen area with 1 table for food products, food supplements and bottles of solutions labeled "Dr. Tho".

The house has no sign, is open for business, has patients coming for medical examination and treatment, does not list the price of medical examination and treatment services, does not have an updated book, and does not have outpatient medical records of patients.
The delegation also noted that at the time of inspection, Mr. Tho was examining and giving medication advice to a male patient named K.
Mr. K. learned about the information on social media and went to Mr. Tho for advice on his health condition. Mr. Tho diagnosed Mr. K. with the disease and then asked him to go behind the house to meet Ms. Thu to get medicine, including 6 food products, food supplements and bottles of solution of unknown origin printed with the information "Dr. Tho" for 4,290,000 VND.
At the examination and consultation table, the inspection team discovered a "Prayer before eating form", OHSAWA method form number 6, formula number 7 (macrobiotic method) with the information "Dr. Ha Duy Tho" written on it. However, Mr. Tho could not provide his medical practice certificate and degree at the time of inspection.
Ms. Dang Thi Tuyet Thu provided the inspection team with a certificate of practice in traditional medicine issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health on November 8, 2012. The department's inspectors requested Mr. Tho and Ms. Thu to immediately stop medical examination and treatment activities, selling products of unknown origin without a license to operate; immediately stop advertising related to medical examination and treatment activities without a license and without a record confirming the advertising content according to regulations.
Previously, on May 25, 2023, the People's Committee of Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District inspected house No. 671/15 Nguyen Kiem, Ward 9, Phu Nhuan District, recorded the suspension of operations of Chan Ngo Service - Production - Trading and Distribution Company Limited, with Mr. Ha Duy Tho as Director, and requested the removal of the signboard.
At the meeting, Mr. Tho stated that "at this address, Chan Ngo Company is no longer operating in production or business" but admitted that "there is support and guidance on diet and nutrition methods for treating late-stage cancer according to the OHSAWA method, and free examinations".
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health calls on people to immediately call 0989.40.1155 or via the "Online Health" app to the Department of Health Inspectorate to promptly grasp information, conduct surprise inspections and take strict measures when discovering medical facilities suspected of operating without a license, without a practice certificate or advertising falsely on social networks.

Even talking about milk, Mr. Tho said: "The more milk you drink, the more osteoporosis you have because the milk of each animal feeds that animal. Humans are high-class animals and human milk only feeds humans".
