Repairing a damaged Khanh Hoa tuna fishing boat at sea

On the afternoon of February 23, the Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center (under the Navy's 129th Squadron) successfully fixed the incident with fishing boat KH 94848 TS. After fixing the problem, the boat will continue to fish.

It is known that fishing boat KH 94848 TS, captained by Mr. Le Huu Ha, permanent resident of Hon Ro, Nha Trang City ( Khanh Hoa ), left port on February 5, fishing for tuna.

On the afternoon of February 21, while fishing in the sea area 12 nautical miles northeast of Truong Sa island, the fishing boat encountered an accident and lost its ability to maneuver. The fishing boat contacted the Truong Sa island Logistics and Technical Service Center for instructions to enter the Truong Sa island dock for repairs.

On February 22, fishing boat KH 94848 TS was towed by fishing boat KH 97272 TS to dock safely at Truong Sa Island Port. Truong Sa Island Logistics and Technical Service Center, Navy Squadron 129 sent technical staff to fishing boat KH 94848 TS to survey the incident, determined that the fishing boat had a broken gearbox and disassembled it to bring it to the workshop for repair.

By the afternoon of February 23, the gearbox problem of fishing boat KH 94848 TS had been fixed, successfully installed and tested for stable operation, and the fishing boat left the Center to continue fishing.

During the repair period, the Center's staff combined propaganda of Prime Minister 's Directive 45/CT-TTg; introduced the activities of the ports and fishing villages in Truong Sa island district; presented national flags, personal life jackets, 2,000 liters of fresh water and some necessities and medicines to fishermen on fishing boats.

This is a regular activity of the ports and fishing villages in Truong Sa archipelago to implement the program "Vietnam Navy as a support for fishermen to go offshore" and join hands with the whole country to overcome the yellow card of the European Union.
