Specifically, NPT, 13 years old, living in Ho Nai 3 commune, Trang Bom district, still needs a ventilator to support his lungs due to severe lung damage, but his consciousness has improved and he is communicating well.
TMT, 12 years old, living in Long Binh ward, Bien Hoa city, is awake, responsive, has pink lips, stable pulse and blood pressure. However, TMT has acute pulmonary edema, diffuse damage to both lungs, so doctors still prescribe antibiotics and CPAP.
As reported by Dong Nai Newspaper, at around 12 noon on May 26, the two children and about 5 other children went swimming in an abandoned pond in Bac Son Commune, Trang Bom District. Of these, 2 children drowned and were discovered by local people and brought to shore.
The suffocation lasted about 6-7 minutes. When brought to shore, both children were unconscious. People performed first aid and took them to Thong Nhat General Hospital for emergency treatment. After emergency treatment, intubation, mechanical ventilation (for baby NPT) and CPAP (baby TMT), Thong Nhat General Hospital transferred the two children to Dong Nai Children's Hospital.
Here, doctors performed vasopressor infusion to increase the patient's blood pressure, high-parameter mechanical ventilation, and used antibiotics for the child.
