Being a mountainous province, many poor and near-poor households live; difficult traffic, sparse population makes transportation, construction material prices increase compared to the general level, many poor households do not have counterpart funds, lack of labor... are obstacles affecting the progress of housing construction in the province. However, determining that eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for people with meritorious services and poor households is a particularly important political task, demonstrating the concern of the Party, State, and community for people's lives, all levels and sectors have determined to implement and achieved many outstanding results.

In particular, the Provincial Women's Union is one of the pioneering units to concretize the province's direction into practical activities of the union. Support of 521 million VND in cash, 31,735 working days, materials, and seeds has helped households build mixed gardens and develop their livelihoods."

In Quan Ba ​​district, not only do they encourage people to build houses that ensure 3 hard things (hard walls, hard floors, hard roofs), the locality also encourages people to pave the floor with ceramic tiles to change their hygienic lifestyle; cover the roof with heat-resistant corrugated iron and take advantage of rainwater collection for daily activities; the district provides additional funding to build auxiliary works such as kitchens and toilets, helping people to have comprehensively improved living conditions. Dong Van district proactively designs a two-storey house model suitable for the climate and living conditions of the people. Meo Vac district establishes youth volunteer teams and volunteer motorcycle teams to support free transportation of materials to each household, overcoming the difficult traffic situation that causes the cost of transporting construction materials to increase, especially for households in remote, isolated and border areas. Communes in Vi Xuyen district establish teams of skilled construction workers with low prices, helping poor households reduce investment costs. The Provincial Youth Union organized a Pickleball sports tournament to join hands to eliminate temporary houses, mobilized 43 million VND in cash from socialized sources and mobilized to build 2 houses worth 120 million VND.

From the socialized sources of organizations, individuals and enterprises, localities have built 79 more houses for poor households in addition to the support source of the province. Vice Chairwoman of Vi Xuyen District People's Committee Dang Thi Phuong shared: "In addition to the province's support, the district has arranged funds to support households in building auxiliary works such as kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets to ensure stable living conditions; called on and mobilized organizations, individuals, and philanthropists to support housing for poor households with over 630 million VND and built nearly 20 new houses from socialized sources; mobilized more than 8,800 working days from officers, soldiers of the armed forces and people to help poor households build houses; many localities mobilized socialized purchases of paint, installation of electrical equipment, and renovation of mixed gardens, helping households stabilize their lives."

With the close direction of the province, the joint efforts of the community and innovative and practical approaches. Up to now, the whole province has started construction of 6,836 houses, of which 4,211 houses have been completed and put into use. The number of working days mobilized to support the construction is up to more than 101,200 days. From May 9 to 16 alone, the whole province started construction of 461 new houses and put into use 716 houses. Many localities such as Dong Van, Quan Ba, Hoang Su Phi, Quang Binh, Vi Xuyen, Bac Quang and Ha Giang city have completed the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses ahead of schedule. Thousands of policy families, poor households, and meritorious people live in sturdy and spacious houses.
