BHG - After more than 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 27 of the Provincial Party Committee on eliminating bad customs and building a civilized lifestyle, Dong Van district has achieved positive results. Contributing to that overall achievement are the initiative and awareness of each citizen participating in the "front" to eliminate bad customs.
As a typical individual who was awarded by the People's Committee of Dong Van district for his active contribution to the implementation of Resolution 27, Mr. Hau Cha De, Head of the Hau clan in Ngai Tro village, Ma Le commune, said: "My Hau clan has never had a precedent of putting the dead in a coffin, the funeral organization always takes many days, causing a lot of expenses. After Resolution 27 was issued, I went directly to each house, propagandized and mobilized. Up to now, all families in the clan are aware of the consequences of bad customs and have changed their awareness, changing from small things, then gradually growing."

With the participation of local authorities and outstanding individuals such as Mr. De, not only the Hau family but also many other families in Ma Le commune are competing to eliminate bad customs, develop the economy , and build a new life.
In the arduous journey of eliminating bad customs, the efforts of many cadres and leaders in the district have also been recognized. They are exemplary party members, in their positions, pioneers in propaganda, mobilization, and guidance for families, relatives, and friends to implement the resolution. Comrade Phung Van Vung, Deputy Head of Pho Bang Border Guard Station, shared: “The station manages the area of 5 border communes of the district. Identifying this as an area with many ethnic groups living together, with unique and distinct cultures, there are also bad customs that need to be eliminated. The station has closely coordinated with local Party committees and authorities to propagate so that people understand what is the beauty of culture and beliefs that need to be preserved, what is the bad customs that need to be eliminated and improved. In order for the propaganda and mobilization process to be appropriate and effective, we also seek the consensus and help of prestigious people, Party cell secretaries, village chiefs, and people who understand the customs and practices of ethnic minorities.”

To promote propaganda and mobilization work, in the first quarter of 2025, the professional department and communes and towns in the district organized 62 propaganda sessions/3,941 participants; organized 1 conference; propagated by loudspeaker, wireless loudspeaker 140 sessions, posted over 60 news articles on mass media sites. Up to now, the whole district has maintained 8 collective models in mobilizing branches of clans to put the deceased in coffins, 9 typical individual models in putting the deceased in coffins. 100% of villages have established a Village Funeral Committee with key officials, prestigious people... to support and help families in performing their tasks when there is a funeral.
Comrade Nguyen Tien Dung, Secretary of Dong Van District Party Committee, said: Determining that eliminating bad customs and building a civilized lifestyle is a long and arduous journey, in addition to the participation of local Party committees and authorities, Dong Van district considers the human factor to be the key. Therefore, in the process of implementing the resolution, the district directed localities to actively promote the role of village elders, village chiefs, heads of the Front's working committees, residential groups, members of the Folk Artisan Association, prestigious people, heads of clans, shamans, and flute masters in propaganda and mobilization work. With the active and drastic participation of Party committees and authorities at all levels, Resolution No. 27 has entered life, creating a change in awareness, gradually forming a new way of thinking among cadres, party members, and people of all ethnic groups in the district regarding the organization of weddings, funerals, and festivals; there are many good and creative ways of doing things and many effective models.
