It is no coincidence that Suoi Giang is known as the "capital of Shan Tuyet tea". Located at an altitude of nearly 1,400m above sea level, this place has a cool climate all year round - ideal conditions for ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees to grow. The rough tree trunks are covered with moss, the white tea buds seem to be covered with snow, crystallizing into a mild astringent taste, with a sweet aftertaste that captivates tea drinkers.

Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea is not only a precious product but also a cultural symbol closely associated with the spiritual life of the Mong people - present in every festival, every family reunion and in stories passed down from generation to generation.

This year, the Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea Festival will be held from April 30 to May 2, 2025 on a large scale and with many diverse activities. The opening night on the evening of April 30 promises to be a highlight with the "Tea Party Night", art performances, traditional tea making and tea roasting art performances. Performances such as Mong flute dance, Mong ethnic costume performance, and many folk games such as tug of war, stick pushing, pao throwing... will vividly recreate indigenous culture, creating a special attraction for tourists.

Mr. Luong Van Tam - Chairman of Suoi Giang Commune People's Committee said: "We have mobilized the entire political system of the commune to participate, preparing the festival in a thoughtful, methodical and attractive manner. Through the festival, we hope to bring the Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea brand further, connect with businesses, attract investment in tourism and agricultural development, and at the same time improve people's lives".

The festival preparation atmosphere has spread strongly throughout the villages. Since the beginning of April, villagers have been cleaning, decorating their houses, setting up stalls, preparing local products such as dried tea, wild honey, brocade, ethnic cuisine , etc. to display and sell at the highland market during the festival. Ms. Song Thi Mai, a resident of Suoi Giang commune, happily shared: "Every year I participate in the festival, but this year, I see that the festival is organized on a larger and more professional scale. My family has prepared Shan Tuyet tea, honey, and sticky rice cakes to serve visitors. I hope that many people will come to enjoy and support local products."

Not only the people, but also homestays, motels, and accommodation services are actively renovating and upgrading their facilities, committing to publicly posting prices, ensuring service quality, and making an impression on tourists.

Destinations such as Thien Cung Cave, Coc Tinh, bamboo forest, sim hill, ancient tea garden... are also introduced in experiential tours, combined with tea tasting and learning about indigenous Mong culture.

Mr. Le Minh Tuan, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "This is the third time I have returned to Suoi Giang, but each time I feel new. The people here are very friendly, and the Shan Tuyet tea is wonderful. I am very excited to participate in the "Tea Party Night", enjoying Shan Tuyet tea with the sound of Mong flutes echoing through the mountains and forests".

Not only a cultural festival, the Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea Festival is also a great opportunity to promote community tourism development. The methodical organization, associated with the economic development program and rural tourism under the direction of the province, is creating favorable conditions for Suoi Giang to promote its products, attract investment and build a sustainable agricultural tourism model. Cooperatives, businesses and households are encouraged to improve product quality, connect with markets and develop community tourism services.

"We identify the Shan Tuyet Tea Festival as not only a single cultural event but also an important link in the chain of agricultural economic development associated with tourism. People benefit directly from the festival, from selling agricultural products, accommodation services, to tourism experience activities" - Mr. Luong Van Tam emphasized.

Shan Tuyet tea is a product that brings high economic efficiency to local people.

For the festival to be successful, community spirit plays a very important role. The departments, organizations, schools, businesses, and villages of the commune have closely coordinated, assigned specific tasks, and together prepared each performance, each booth, and each tea table to welcome visitors in a neat and warm manner. Images of old people roasting tea, young people passionately practicing the Khen dance, Mong girls practicing dancing and singing... all create a vivid picture of a united community, full of vitality.

The sound of the Mong flute, the sound of pounding rice cakes, the cheerful laughter echoing among the deep green tea hills, signaling that Suoi Giang is ready for the biggest festival of the year. The fresh Shan Tuyet tea buds, the sweet cups of tea, the honest hands of the local people, all are inviting visitors from all over to come and experience, to love more a land, a culture, a very unique flavor of the Northwest mountains and forests.

The Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet Tea Festival 2025 is not only a commemorative event and a trade promotion activity, but also an occasion to honor traditional values, a place where love for the land, love for people and deep pride of the people of Suoi Giang for their homeland converge.
