What does Suzuki Fronx have in Vietnam to "compete" with Hyundai Venue and Toyota Raize?

Suzuki's product portfolio in Vietnam currently has only two passenger cars, the XL7 and Jimny. According to some sources, in the near future, the company will add a new small SUV, the Suzuki Fronx 2025, to its product portfolio to compete with rivals.

The image of the 2025 Suzuki Fronx SUV at the emission testing center in Hanoi recently is proof. Currently, the selling price of Suzuki Fronx in Vietnam has not been revealed. According to information from the dealer, this model will officially launch in Vietnam in the second quarter of this year.

Suzuki Fronx is an A-class SUV that was first launched in the Indian market in 2023. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 3,995 x 1,550 x 1,765 mm and a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. When coming to Vietnam, this model will be a new competitor of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Toyota Raize.

However, unlike its competitors, this model has a more stylish SUV-Coupe design. The technical specifications and equipment of the Suzuki Fronx in Vietnam are still unknown. Meanwhile, in the Indian market, this model has quite complete equipment in the segment.

More specifically, Suzuki Fronx in India has notable equipment such as LED lighting system, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rack, analog dashboard with integrated multi-information screen, 9-inch central touch screen, support for wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection, voice control with the command "Hi Suzuki"

Features software updates via WiFi, Arkamys 6-speaker sound system, HUD windshield information display, wireless phone charging, automatic air conditioning, rear air conditioning vents and USB Type A/Type C ports.

In addition, there are safety features such as front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, 6 airbags, electronic balance system, hill start assist, rear camera, parking assist sensor and 360-degree camera.

In the Indian market, the Suzuki Fronx has two engine options. The first is the Progressive Smart Hybrid mild hybrid powertrain, which includes a 1.0L turbocharged Boosterjet petrol engine that produces a maximum capacity of 100 horsepower and a maximum torque of 147.6 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The engine consumes an average of 21.5 km/l (4.65 l/100 km) of gasoline when combined with a manual transmission and 20.01 km/l (4.99 l/100 km) when combined with an automatic transmission. The second is a 1.2L, 4-cylinder Dual Jet gasoline engine with a maximum capacity of 89.7 horsepower and a maximum torque of 113 Nm. Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT automated manual transmission.

The fuel consumption of this engine when used with manual transmission as well as AMT transmission is 21.79 km/liter (4.58 liters/100 km) and 22.89 km/liter (4.36 liters/100 km) respectively.

This is likely to be the engine used for the Suzuki Fronx in Vietnam. In addition to Vietnam, this A-class SUV will also be launched in other Southeast Asian markets this year such as Thailand and Indonesia.
