Temporarily postpone the fireworks display at Hue Flag Tower

(PLVN) - The Hue Monuments Conservation Center (HMCC) has temporarily suspended fireworks at the Hue Flag Tower after a firecracker fell near the area where tourists and locals were watching.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center has just announced the temporary postponement of fireworks display at Ky Dai - Ngo Mon Square.

The Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that it is rebuilding the content script, researching technical equipment and other factors to ensure the best conditions for organizing the simulated fireworks display at the Flag Tower every Saturday evening. Once completed, the Center will notify residents and tourists of the schedule for the fireworks display to resume.

According to the plan, at 7:15 pm every Saturday, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center will fire cannons on the Flag Tower to create a highlight and a joyful atmosphere for locals and tourists. The Flag Tower has 8 cannons, each can fire a maximum of 9 shots, 72 shots per night, for 40 seconds. The new type of cannon replaces the old oil-spraying cannon system.

Previously , the Hue Monuments Conservation Center organized fireworks displays on the nights of April 26 and May 3, but both encountered problems. On the evening of May 3, thousands of locals and tourists watching from Phu Van Lau area, about 50 meters away from the fireworks display, had to flee when red embers fell on their heads.

After the incident, the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library - Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent a document to the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City to check, verify information and handle the organization of cannon shooting in Hue according to its authority.

In case of detecting violations of the law, the Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library requests the Department of Culture and Sports of Hue City to proactively handle them according to its authority.
