Vietnam national team rookie reveals coach Kim's advice, praises Xuan Son as being on another level

Striker Pham Gia Hung affirmed that the Vietnamese team is gradually absorbing the philosophy of coach Kim Sang-sik.

Vietnam team puts all their efforts into the match against Laos

On the afternoon of November 13, the Vietnamese team continued to practice at Viet Tri Stadium ( Phu Tho province) to prepare for the match against Laos, taking place on November 19 in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

In the third training session of the November training camp, coach Kim Sang-sik started to let the players practice more tactical moves, such as deploying the ball out wide to stretch the formation, counter-attacking, and developing playing style under pressure.

According to striker Pham Gia Hung ( Ninh Binh Club), Mr. Kim gave two specific instructions to the strikers.

"Coach Kim Sang-sik focuses on two points in the strikers. First is the finishing. He requires his students to shoot the ball more carefully. Second, is the running without the ball. Coach Kim wants the strikers to move in sync with the philosophy of the Vietnamese team," striker Gia Hung affirmed.

Gia Hung played outstandingly for Ninh Binh in the first division last season. In the V-League, although he only played a supporting role for the duo Gustavo Henrique and Dos Anjos, Gia Hung still made a certain contribution with 2 goals in 9 matches.

Gia Hung was called up to the Vietnam national team in the September training session, when the team played internal friendly matches with Nam Dinh and Hanoi Police Club. Gia Hung then continued to be called up to the national team in October, and was then retained by Mr. Kim in this training session. He played in the match against Nepal (both home and away).

Gia Hung praised his senior Xuan Son, affirming: "Xuan Son is at another level. We learned a lot about the movement and thinking of a real striker from Xuan Son.

Although he just returned after 11 months of injury, Xuan Son integrated very quickly. I have to learn a lot from him."

According to Gia Hung, Xuan Son will help the Vietnamese team become much stronger. As for himself, the Ninh Binh striker only affirmed that he will try his best if given the opportunity in the match against Laos.
