This year, the contest to find the new beauty queen includes criteria through the 4 I's: Image: Independence, self-reliance (Independence); Intelligence, in which emotional intelligence (Intelligence) is emphasized; Inspiration (Inspiration). The new beauty queen needs to possess all 3 elements: beauty, compassion and intelligence.

Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 will include recorded and replayed performances. 7 stages will be invested in post-production and filming, along with the final night scheduled to be held in mid-September 2024. Contestants will show their personalities, colors, and performance abilities for the audience and judges to evaluate comprehensively. The producer said that he has invested 1 million USD (more than 25 billion VND) in the contest.

Two performance stages were also introduced at the press conference. The swimsuit stage will simulate the Milky Way. The national costume stage will be inspired by the Tet cake tray. The national costumes of the contestants will be based on the legends, myths, stories, and anecdotes of the 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam.

Head of the Organizing Committee Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga said that the selection of the new beauty queen does not emphasize splendor but focuses on the ability to inspire, accompany social activities, and spread positive things. The 8 competition nights will contribute to perfecting the contestants to become professional, capable of achieving high results in the international arena.

The new point of Miss Universe Vietnam 2024 is to increase the age of contestants from 18 to 33, but transgender contestants, those with children or those who have registered for marriage or family are not allowed to participate, due to the need to comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Culture. Contestants from previous seasons are welcome to participate but will not be given special treatment. The composition of the contest's jury will be announced soon. Each round has a separate score sheet of each judge and is checked by an auditing unit to ensure transparency.

With mixed opinions about Miss Universe Vietnam and the reigning beauty queen Bui Quynh Hoa, the producer duo Huong Giang and Pharmacist Tien said they were not worried but completely trusted the organizers and promised to support the new beauty queen after the contest.
