- It has been more than half a month since storm No. 11 passed, but 20 households in Khau Luong village, Tan Tien commune are still worried about landslides and do not dare to stay in their houses.
According to a report by the People's Committee of Tan Tien commune, at about 2:30 p.m. on October 10, 2025, people in Khau Luong village discovered a crack about 40 meters long in the vegetable and corn growing area of the people, which was at risk of landslides, posing a danger to households living below.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Tan Tien Commune People's Committee, said: Immediately after receiving the information, the Commune People's Committee urgently established a team to inspect the scene. Through inspection at the above location, a crack appeared over 200 m long (with 3 points), the widest 20 cm, about 1.4 m deep, causing a subsidence of 10-15 cm. The initial cause was determined to be due to prolonged heavy rain (affected by storm No. 11) causing landslides on the slope. The location of the crack directly affected 20 houses of 20 households with 96 people, 2 power works, a cultural house and 9 hectares of production land.
Immediately after grasping the situation, the Commune People's Committee directed Khau Luong village to urgently notify the above 20 households, and at the same time propagate and mobilize households to immediately relocate to the old Bac Ai commune headquarters (about 3km from the landslide site) to ensure safety; support necessary necessities for people... Along with that, the Commune People's Committee continued to direct relevant units to closely coordinate with the village to grasp the situation, monitor the cracks to report to superiors for timely handling measures.

Mr. Trieu Long Ghin, Party Cell Secretary, Head of Khau Luong Village, said: The village has 50 households, 227 people, 100% of whom are Dao ethnic people. As soon as the crack was discovered, potentially endangering people's lives and property, the village propagandized and mobilized all households to move to the old Bac Ai commune headquarters as well as stay at the houses of brothers, relatives, and camps in safe locations. For the past half month, during the day, households still go to work and go back and forth to their houses. However, at night, due to concerns that landslides could happen at any time, people left their houses and properties behind and moved to the above locations to live.
Staying at the old Bac Ai commune headquarters and staying with relatives is only a temporary measure. Currently, people want relevant authorities and sectors to soon have specific solutions to help people stabilize their lives. Mr. Trieu Long Tinh, Khau Luong village said: My family has just built a new house for 3 years now. As soon as a dangerous crack appeared on the hill behind the house, my family and other households moved out of the house. Living in concentrated areas and staying with relatives has many inconveniences, while people's assets are mainly left at home, and at night, young people take turns going around to check to ensure the safety of their assets. Currently, the family wants the authorities to clearly determine the state of the landslide, whether they can still stay in the old location or not so that the family can have a solution.
In response to the people's expectations, the Tan Tien Commune government has also implemented initial solutions. Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Tan Tien Commune People's Committee, added: Since the appearance of cracks and landslides in Khau Luong village, the leaders of the Commune People's Committee have directly gone in 4 times to grasp the actual situation, support food, and at the same time check the location so that in case of relocation, concentrated resettlement will be built. At the same time, the Commune People's Committee has reported to relevant levels and sectors to direct the organization of inspection, survey, and assessment of the danger level of the area where cracks appeared in Khau Luong village. From there, solutions will be found soon to stabilize people's lives.
Half a month has passed, 20 households in Khau Luong village are still struggling with temporary accommodation. We hope that relevant authorities will quickly come up with specific, long-term solutions to help people stabilize their lives soon.
