On the morning of May 19, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha inspected the work of natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue (PCTT&TKCN) in 2025 in Ky Anh town.
Also attending were leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches and leaders of the People's Committee of Ky Anh town.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha and members inspected the Tay Yen culvert project in Ky Thinh ward, Con Gao bridge in Ky Hoa commune and Son Duong port, Vung Ang Economic Zone.
Tay Yen sluice in Ky Thinh ward was built in 1963 with 6 sluice gates, serving flood drainage for 6 communes and wards in the southern area of Ky Anh town; preventing salinity, keeping fresh water, supplying water for agricultural production for Ky Thinh ward and Ky Loi commune.

After a long period of operation, although they have been repaired, the 6 sluice gates are now degraded and severely damaged. The sluice gates are rotten in many places, there is no fixed staircase to go up to operate the sluice; the reinforced concrete frame system of the sluice is damaged, peeling, exposing the steel. During the rainy and stormy season, the operation of the sluice gate faces many difficulties.

Con Gao Bridge in Ky Hoa Commune is 40m long, built in 2009, located on the rescue route of the upstream Tri River reservoir. Along with serving the travel of people, Con Gao Bridge plays an important role in implementing solutions to ensure the safety of the upstream Tri River reservoir during each rainy season.

However, Con Gao Bridge is seriously damaged in the piers and abutments with the reinforced concrete at the base of the piers breaking the connection, the concrete at the base of the piers being eroded and washed away, the steel reinforcement being corroded and the piers are at risk of gradually losing their load-bearing capacity.
With the current state of damage, the risk of Con Gao bridge breaking or collapsing is quite high, as it is only about 100m from the discharge culvert of the upstream lake of Song Tri.

Next, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha inspected the PCTT & TKCN work at Son Duong port, Vung Ang Economic Zone.
Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation has coordinated with the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board to proactively develop plans to prevent and respond to possible natural disasters, especially strong storms and super storms, ensuring the safety of items, equipment and machinery, contributing significantly to ensuring sustainable socio-economic development and national defense and security in the area.

During the inspection, the leaders of Ky Anh Town People's Committee also informed the delegation about the implementation of PCTT&TKCN tasks in 2025.
The town has focused on directing communes, wards and units to deploy the contents of PCTT&TKCN work in the prevention phase; developed and approved 7 plans to respond to natural disasters; focused on directing communes and wards to develop plans to evacuate people in response to storm levels and areas at risk of flooding, downstream of reservoirs.
Ky Anh Town proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and provincial-level sectors support funding to repair, overcome, and upgrade a number of works, dykes, and speed up project progress...

Through the field inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the initiative of Ky Anh town and units in promptly developing plans and solutions for disaster prevention and control; at the same time, requested localities and units to absorb the opinions of the inspection team members to complete the 2025 disaster prevention and control plan.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Bao Ha requested Ky Anh town and units to closely monitor weather developments, organize on-duty shifts according to regulations to promptly deploy solutions when natural disasters occur; continue to deploy preparation work according to the "4 on-site" motto.
Strengthen the maintenance of natural disaster prevention works to ensure safety and good operation when the flood situation becomes complicated; urge units to speed up the construction progress of works and have plans to ensure safety during the rainy and stormy season; continue to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of natural disaster prevention to every household and citizen.
