According to statistics, there are currently 17 industrial parks in the province that have been established and granted investment certificates and business registration certificates. Of these, 9 industrial parks have been put into operation, 3 industrial parks are under construction and 5 industrial parks are undergoing site clearance (GPMB), with a total land area of nearly 3,150 hectares, the occupancy rate of industrial parks in the province reaching nearly 45%.
By the end of May 2025, industrial parks in the province had attracted 525 valid investment projects, including 132 domestic investment projects (DDI) with a total investment capital of nearly 41 trillion VND and 393 FDI projects with a total investment capital of over 7 billion USD.
According to the report of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, currently 9 industrial parks in the province are in operation and ensure full technical infrastructure to protect the environment according to regulations, including: Automatic wastewater monitoring system; centralized wastewater treatment system; rainwater drainage system, solid waste storage area and other technical infrastructure works to protect the environment.
A typical example is Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park. In addition to the environmental protection infrastructure system that has been systematically invested in according to regulations, right from the beginning of construction, the investor, Sumitomo Corporation of Japan, has reserved 20% of the total area for the green tree system, water surface and traffic roads, making Thang Long Vinh Phuc Industrial Park one of the model industrial parks in environmental protection in the system of industrial parks in the province.
Identifying industrial production activities always has many potential risks of impacting the environment and the issue of environmental protection is both a state management responsibility and an urgent requirement for the sustainable development of industrial parks.
Based on the practical situation and assigned functions and tasks, the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board has focused on coordinating with departments, branches and localities to advise the Provincial People's Committee to issue regulations on coordination in state management of environmental protection in industrial parks in the province.
Promote investment promotion, in the direction of selectively attracting investment and selecting large-scale projects, using clean, advanced technology, products with high production value, from large, reputable domestic and foreign investors.
Along with that, actively propagate and disseminate legal documents on environmental protection for enterprises in industrial parks; international regulations on environment, goods circulation, import and export in a sustainable direction for enterprises according to the provisions of law and in chemical activities for enterprises in industrial parks.
Monitor, urge and require infrastructure investors and enterprises in the industrial park to strictly implement environmental protection and waste management; urge the installation of automatic monitoring equipment for enterprises subject to regulations.
Regularly coordinate with infrastructure construction investors, specialized agencies and local authorities to inspect and monitor environmental protection activities of enterprises operating in industrial parks, especially enterprises that are required to prepare environmental impact assessment reports and environmental protection projects.
Proactively develop and issue plans to strengthen waste management in industrial parks in the province and require businesses to sign commitments to strictly implement waste management and transfer.
Strengthen information exchange, guide businesses and investors in industrial parks to build and deploy response plans to environmental incidents during production and business activities.
Conduct regular and surprise inspections and checks, and check when there are signs of violations; promptly and strictly handle enterprises that intentionally violate environmental protection regulations; resolutely not trade the environment for production development and economic growth...
