Strengthening international cooperation in training human resources in performing arts

The meeting aims to help the Academy learn about the need for cooperation in training, cultural and artistic exchange between the Academy and art training schools in Vietnam. Based on the survey and work with the art and performing arts training system in Vietnam, the two sides will discuss and propose cooperation content.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong received and worked with Ms. Gillian Ann Choa, leader of the Academy.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong expressed his joy to learn that many Vietnamese students who have studied at the Academy have become famous and returned to contribute to the country. The Deputy Minister thanked the Academy's leaders for actively supporting Vietnamese students during their studies.

The two sides exchanged many solutions for cooperation in training human resources in the performing arts field.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that culture and arts are areas that the Party and State of Vietnam pay great attention to through the promulgation of many policies, programs and projects to preserve and develop the country's cultural and artistic values; exchange and absorb the quintessence of human culture and train high-quality human resources. These include the Project on Training Talents in the Field of Culture and Arts for the 2016-2025 period, with a vision to 2030, and the Project on Training and Fostering Cultural and Artistic Human Resources Abroad to 2030, which were approved by the Prime Minister in 2016 with the aim of supplementing and developing a team of lecturers, teachers, researchers, experts, artists, high-quality human resources, the core for the cause of training, research and performing cultural and artistic activities of the country.

In the field of culture and arts, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has 16 training facilities with an average annual enrollment of about 20,000 students. Training areas include Music, Theater and Cinema, Fine Arts, Culture, Dance, and Circus.

The Deputy Minister stated that the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts is one of the leading art training schools in the world . Moreover, due to the geographical proximity and long-term cultural contact in history, the people of the two sides have similarities in East Asian culture in perception, thinking, especially in terms of qualifications and aesthetic tastes.... Therefore, cooperation in training human resources in the field of culture and art between training institutions of the two sides will take place very smoothly. Promoting cooperation with the Academy will help Vietnamese art and performing arts schools access advanced teaching methods in the world; especially in traditional art subjects.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Gillian Ann Choa said that she and the Academy's leadership team had the opportunity to visit a number of art training facilities in Hanoi . The Academy's leaders expressed their impression of the increasingly systematic and professional training of the facilities. Ms. Gillian Ann Choa affirmed that the Academy is ready to share training experiences with Vietnamese performing arts training facilities; in both traditional and contemporary arts and supporting fields. The Academy also wishes to support Vietnam in training managers in the performing arts sector.

The two sides agreed to promote cooperation.

According to Ms. Gillian Ann Choa, to improve the quality of training, the Academy has links with a number of training institutions in Dance, Cinema, etc. With its strengths, the Academy wishes to welcome Vietnamese students to study at the Academy. During the learning process, the Academy is committed to creating the best conditions for students to feel secure in their studies.
