According to a report from the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions , the average income of ethnic minority people has increased rapidly. It is projected that by the end of 2025, income will reach 45.9 million VND/year, an increase of nearly 3.3 times compared to 2020.

In Cao Bang province, during the period 2022-2025, the total central government budget allocated to National Target Program No. 1719 for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is over 5,033 billion VND. As of August 1, 2025, the province had disbursed over 3,800 billion VND, reaching 75.6% of the plan.
Thanks to the synchronized implementation of various solutions in the component projects, the poverty reduction rate among ethnic minorities in Cao Bang has reached over 4.6%. Meanwhile, Son La province is also one of the localities with the highest disbursement progress in the country, with over 3,666 billion VND disbursed as of June 2025, reaching 64% of the planned capital. Indicators on poverty reduction, access to basic services, infrastructure development, education , and health have all made significant progress. In particular, the percentage of poor and near-poor households in the especially difficult communes of Son La has decreased by 4.47%.
These positive results demonstrate the effectiveness of the National Target Program in improving the lives of ethnic minorities, achieving sustainable poverty reduction, and narrowing the development gap between regions.
Local authorities are continuing to increase resources and focus on implementing practical projects to help ethnic minority communities stabilize their lives and develop their economies in the coming period.
