Accelerate and break through to complete the target of 3,000km of highway in 2025

According to the report of the Ministry of Construction , up to now, the whole country has 37 projects/95 component projects. Of which, there are 35 projects in the road sector and 2 projects in the aviation sector.

In the first 6 months of the year, the Prime Minister , Head of the Steering Committee, chaired 4 Steering Committee meetings and assigned 120 tasks to ministries, branches and localities. In the context of merging provinces and cities, organizing a 2-level local government model, ministries and branches spent a lot of time on institutional building, and localities carried out the work of arranging and streamlining the apparatus; however, with the attention and drastic direction of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and the regular coordination of relevant ministries and branches, localities completed 100% of the assigned tasks.

Accordingly, 5 expressway projects with a total length of 271km were started; the project progress has clearly changed, many sea route projects are ahead of schedule; 4 component projects with a total length of 208km of the North - South Eastern Expressway in the 2021 - 2025 period have been completed and put into operation, 19km of Ben Luc - Long Thanh project, 10km of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau component project 3, bringing the total number of expressways nationwide to 2,268km.

Many projects were scheduled to be completed in 2026, but efforts have been made to complete the route or complete eligible sections by the end of 2025, shortening the time by 4-5 months compared to the plan. The total value of construction output of expressway projects in the first 6 months of 2025 reached more than 66,500 billion VND.

In the aviation sector, Terminal T3 of Tan Son Nhat International Airport has been put into operation. Component projects of Long Thanh International Airport are being implemented to meet the set plan.

Tay Ninh province is investing in 3 important national projects including Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 project and Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project. Accordingly, 3 main expressway packages are being implemented with 73% output, 1 additional package to adjust the end-of-route traffic intersection and 1 package to complete the connection. Assessing the approved speed, Tay Ninh province strives to basically complete the expressway section in 2025 and the entire project in 2026 according to the direction of the Government, Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee.

Directing at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the efforts of the entire political system in accelerating and striving to complete the set targets. Many previously delayed works and projects have caught up with the target progress.

The Prime Minister requested to continue to accelerate and break through with a spirit of speed and boldness, striving to have 2,476km of expressway, 1,397km of coastal road by August 19 and by the end of 2025 to exceed the target of 3,000km of expressway, complete nearly 2,000km of coastal road, basically complete Long Thanh airport, create momentum, create force, create position to enter a new era, contribute to making achievements to welcome the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to thoroughly organize the implementation with high determination, great efforts, focus and key points, assigning work according to "6 clear" principles. Carry out emulation and reward work well. Proactively remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Units urgently propose works and projects to start construction and inaugurate to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Continue to effectively carry out patriotic emulation movements, including the peak emulation period "500 days and nights of emulation to complete 3,000km of expressway", arousing national pride, creating an enthusiastic working atmosphere with the highest sense of responsibility.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended ministries, branches, localities, relevant components and entities for actively overcoming difficulties and accelerating the implementation of key projects./.
